Primary responsibilities of this position are to identify and deliver material cost savings, optimize existing supplier base, conduct risk analyses and develop strategies to minimize, and support R&D activities from project inception through transfer to manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze annual direct and indirect material purchase volumes and determine opportunities to reduce cost based on negotiations, volume commitments, etc. Deliver year over year cost savings. Supports strategic spend reduction initiatives.
Determine risk levels associated within supply base (ex. sole source suppliers) and develop alternates as required. Use formal risk analysis methods and implement business processes to minimize risk.
Manage supplier development/validation according to the sourcing strategic plan for the R&D departments as they develop new products/components.
Oversee process to maintain supplier files. Review, manage, and maintain Supply Agreements for purchased materials. Identify supplier relationships that need Supply Agreements and implement.
Set strategic plan for the team and manage resources to accomplish business requirements. Ensure uninterrupted supply of material.
Implement metrics to ensure processes are performing as designed.
Support insourcing and outsourcing activities; identify and develop potential suppliers. Lead cross-functional make/buy review on existing products.
May perform other duties as assigned
