POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a committed and self-motivated intern to join the Sales team. This is a temporary position to assist with strategic regional opportunities. The intern will plan and manage the execution of commercial initiatives to attain or exceed sales targets established by the management team. We will train and prepare the intern to engage in customer facing activities.  These will include calling on specific accounts and HCPs that will help us drive our market position. Engaging with HCPs, sharing key messages, sampling, and earning recommendations for Kate Farms products to help drive the strategic regional business areas.

This internship offers exposure to the Kate Farms organization and its products, a range of commercial channels, various HCPs (Health Care Professionals), and HCOs (Health Care Organizations). The right candidate will have an opportunity to collaborate with professionals in a cross-functional capacity, gain product knowledge and selling skills, and impact the sales team’s overall success.

*This is a full-time internship – up to 40 hours per week.

* Candidate must live in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, or a surrounding city.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Main responsibilities, but are not limited to:

·        Achieve Sales Goals Outlined.

·        Develop an in-depth knowledge of Kate Farms products and services.

·        Uses effective time management skills to visit customers and / or potential customers of Kate Farms in the assigned territory on a regular and planned basis.

·        Manage existing customers and acquire new customers assigned call plan in the assigned territory including but not limited to:

o   Outpatient & Specialty Clinics

·        Plan and develop the market for our existing and new products in accordance with company goals and objectives; optimize available selling tools (marketing collateral, product brochure, trunk stock, demo product, iPad videos, etc.).

·        Drive demand for Kate Farms products by:

o   Gaining exposure to Health Care Providers and driving brand preference and loyalty

o   Driving Recommendations for the specified products

o   Community Awareness (events)

o   Service – sampling, one-by-one strategy

·        Ongoing technical training and support to customers (In-Services).

·        Attend team sales meetings, training meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required.

·        Analyze and report to your manager and/or others (weekly & monthly) the market and business feedback by using all available support tools (email, iPad, company laptop).

·        Represent Kate Farms values and integrity.

·        Follow Kate Farms employee and intern policies, procedures, and guidelines.

·        Book his/her own business travel using most economical way per company guidelines (all  business travel expenses will be reimbursed by company).

·        Comply with company T&E policy.

Business Tools (Company provides)

·        Monthly sales reports and tracings to track revenue (sales) against company objectives for this position and accounts rolling into the position.

·        Laptop computer/iPad.

·        Electronics allowance to cover cell phone and in-home internet service (when used for company purposes).

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

·        Registered Dietitian preferred.

·        Must have the ability to work independently, self-starter, and be exceedingly responsible.

·        Must possess a cell phone.

·        Possess a proactive attitude, initiative, and drive.

·        Must have superior negotiating and influencing skills.

·        Possess excellent verbal communication skills with a keen ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, and ability to follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and customers.

·        Outgoing, positive, and willing to contribute to a team-oriented workplace.

·        Must have a vehicle maintained in good working order, current valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance documentation.

  • Must possess computer skills with a keen understanding of business software such as, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word documents, email, and calendar.

·        Have the ability to respond to customers, vendors, and co-workers in a diplomatic and positive manner.

·        Possess excellent organizational skills.

·        Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently.

·        Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.

·        Flexibility to adapt to all situations and work varied hours; possibly work weekends or evenings on occasion.

·        Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position will work in a home/office environment with regular trips to medical offices, clinics, and work with Homecare partners.

The hourly rate for this position ranges between $20.00  - $31.25  The base salary range above represents the low and high end of the Kate Farms salary range for this position.  This range will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, internal pay       alignment, and performance.  The range listed is just one component of Kate Farms’ total compensation package for employees.  Other rewards may include annual bonuses and  short- and long- term incentives.
