Strategic Programs Manager - Digital Interconnection

Job Summary

Equinix is the world's digital infrastructure company. Much of the internet that you know flows through our rapid interconnected network and data centers. Our Equinix Internet Exchange is the world's largest Internet Exchange while our Equinix Fabric has the largest market share in Software Defined Interconnection. We are looking to build our next generation multi-cloud networking service to help customers solve the complexities and challenges of multi-cloud networking that builds upon our Digital Interconnection platform.

We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to partner with Product Management, Engineering, and GTM teams to launch a large-scale multi-cloud networking service for the next phase of our growth.

Success in this role will require listening to the product development teams within our digital service's business to identify problems, craft strategic solutions, and execute using data-driven decision making and influence. Combine the strong delivery skills of a traditional program manager with the emerging trends of agile methodologies to solve problems. An agile PMO is a leader who collaborates with teams to develop an agile program framework, focus on the 'why' and 'what' as much as the 'how', and supports the team to meet their commitments.

Responsibilities

Problem solving and business analysis

  • Develop data driven business analysis models to drive optimization at various stages of the product life cycle

  • Derive insights from quantitative and qualitative data analysis for operational efficiency opportunities and develop executive ready presentations with recommendations to solve the business problem at hand

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and customers to enable a sufficient business analysis

  • Influence stakeholders to gain approval, alignment, and resources for strategic projects for data-backed efficiency opportunities and strategic initiatives

  • Measure the impact of the work being delivered, track and communicate key program metrics and facilitate relentless data-driven improvements for the organization

Planning and Execution

  • Lead multiple strategic initiatives for the Digital Interconnection portfolio, by navigating ambiguity, understanding context of product life cycle, and developing a programmatic approach for resolution

  • Gather and verify program requirements, establish goals, outcomes, metrics, and timelines

  • Develop a program framework and operating cadence for the strategic programs with plan of record and key milestones

  • Develop change management and communication plans for transformational initiatives

  • Drive execution, identify risks and mitigate organization impediments, encouraging constructive conflicts

  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Communications teams to scope, manage and execute strategic projects

  • Create dashboards and support executive communication mechanisms to provide program visibility to senior leadership. Support customer communications where needed

  • Take end to end ownership of initiative through planning, initiation, timely risk mitigation, and seamless execution

Business Operations

  • Support executive communications and engagements within the organization. Help shape the agendas for cadence of executive meetings

  • Support the annual planning process, including business case creation, portfolio prioritization, development of annual Objectives and Key Results, budget and headcount

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in program and product management with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • 2+ years of experience working in a global, high-tech XaaS, product company

  • Proven experience building data driven business analysis models, financial planning & analysis and developing strategic recommendations for solving business problems

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a global, cross-functional organization to meet commitments for successful programs in the product lifecycle

  • Must be self-directed and work in complex and dynamic ecosystems

  • Excellent communication skills - listening and communicating, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and deliver solutions in a changing environment

  • When faced with issues, you apply lateral thinking and analyze available information to solve complex problems

  • Experienced in management consulting and/or business process re-engineering

The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

  • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $128,000 to $211,000 per year

  • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $119,000 to $196,000 per year

  • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $108,000 to $178,000 per year

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
