As a Strategic Planning Manager, here is what you'll be doing at the core, day to day.

The Strategic Planning Manager oversees the aircraft planning teams for our Aircraft Maintenance Service Center locations. The planning processes are critical to the measurement and successful execution of the heavy maintenance aircraft work packages. This role will report into the Senior Director of the Service Center Network, and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Coordination of all planning aspects to ensure prompt and accurate work packages are built with company and customer policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, contract requirements, and are aligned with the customer expectations.
Measure results and proactively communicate metrics, project objectives, status, barriers, and results to all levels of the organization as required.
Interface with various internal and external stakeholders on planning related items and functions including reporting requirements, progress reporting, etc.
Assist with standardization of processes and roles/responsibilities across sites using a best practice approach, leading to higher efficiencies and improved management.
Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, and technical procedures.
Work directly with multiple business units on future development of process improvement initiatives and projects to support business growth.
Perform project management duties for multiple customers and airframes.
Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
Lead and manage a team of employees, which may include: performance reviews and feedback, opportunities for professional development and growth, and personnel decisions concerning hiring, terminations, disciplinary issues, and salary adjustments
Responsible for continuous learning of professional/industry knowledge; hone your own training skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources

Here's what is required to succeed as a Strategic Planning Manager.

10 years of experience in a leadership role in business and/or regional aviation
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Management or related field is preferred
Hands on experience in breaking down work packages to create tactical flow and critical path required
Previous experience in (leadership-level role): customer-facing, business management, and/or manufacturing strongly preferred
Previous supervisory experience in: assigning and delegating work, evaluating results, hiring, terminating, and addressing discipline is required
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills necessary to operate web-based maintenance operating applications.
Thorough knowledge / experience with aircraft maintenance business model
Working knowledge of FAA and Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to business and regional aircraft
Thorough knowledge of aerospace industry, related services, key players, and associated influences
Working knowledge of process improvement methodology and application (e.g., lean principles)
Robust verbal and written communication skills; experienced at communicating with all levels of an organization.
Strong interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, employees, other departments.
Acute attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with ability to exercise good judgment.
Business writing skills necessary to create various reports and correspondence.
Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management.
Working knowledge of financial reports including budgetary guidelines and project expenditures
Experience with interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
