About the team and the role:

eBay is looking to hire a Strategic Partnerships Manager! The Strategic Partnerships team is tasked with sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and implementing custom commercial partnerships to drive significant new inorganic growth opportunities that support eBay across its core markets. We advise senior leadership and business unit owners on partner strategy, lead cross-functional teams to drive deal execution, and support the implementation, ongoing management, and development of partners!

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of business dynamics with expert data handling and strong operational insight, positioning themselves as a vital partner and consultant across the enterprise. You will navigate between rapid execution and building consensus on ground-breaking initiatives, maintaining both a broad strategic perspective and a diligent approach, all while moving effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Accomplish:

  • Project Management: Play a meaningful role in relevant aspects of the partnership strategy, including development of partnership approach, pipeline generation, screening and assessment, financial model building, as well as partner across the organization on execution. Develop plans to manage a dynamic set of critical projects simultaneously while driving to delivery against tight timelines.

  • Financial Analysis: Support the financial analysis vital to build-out case assessments for project success looking at unit and project economics. Analyze financial impact of potential deals, including deal modeling and assessment.

  • Communications: Development of polished storyline driven presentations to assist in executive decision making and deal negotiations. Build frameworks and templates for communicating the information in an effective manner.

  • Critical Thinking: Contribute to opportunity assessment through strategic analysis based on insightful competitive analysis, market research, partnership landscape planning that aligns with eBay's business goals and strategic priorities.

  • Deal Execution: Deal execution & partner management experience is ideal.

    Ability to initiate, structure and close partnership deals. Negotiate business terms and partnership agreements, including drafting term sheets and supporting the legal team to implement contracts. Ensure that eBay achieves optimum structure, terms and conditions for each deal, consistent with the overall business strategy.

What You Will Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, and/or partnerships, along with experience in an equivalent corporate strategy or corporate development group

  • Experience negotiating large, sophisticated deals with senior executives at major retail, digital, technology, and consumer supporting companies

  • Inventive self-starter and creative problem solver who can manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and hit deliverables with minimal direction

  • Outstanding PowerPoint skills and ability to build succinct and structured exec-level presentations

  • Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills

  • Familiarity with up-to-date tech industry trends, specifically as they apply to e-commerce

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from a top tier university; MBA a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$106,800 - $162,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
