  • Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills regarding contractual, technical, and financial issues with partners.

About the job

As the Strategic Partner Manager for News Ecosystem, you will be tasked with shaping the future of news on the platform. You will drive the exploration, scoping and execution of new models to bring high-quality news content to YouTube, enabling content experiences for users around the world who come to YouTube for their news, and making news publishing more sustainable for the breadth of the world's news organizations.

You will develop new strategies, products, and programs for the news ecosystem. You will also initiate and manage day-to-day operations and partner relationships, fielding and prioritizing incoming requests, troubleshooting partner systems around reporting, content management, and Content ID, and creating periodic reports (external and internal) on partner performance.

In this role, you can quickly analyze a challenge with structured thinking, comfortable with ambiguity and adapt your approach to reconcile with evolving priorities. You are energized working with a global, cross-functional team, have a track record of managing competing priorities and want to be part of an innovative group of thinkers and doers, forging new ground at the intersection of technology and news. You possess strong relationship-building skills and are apt to see win-win opportunities with partners in order to best represent our users, products, and programs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $103,000-$152,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop strategic recommendations on business and partnership models for news content creation and distribution on YouTube, rooted in a mastery of industry trends.

  • Manage and optimize existing partnerships to improve business growth and user experience, while maintaining strong direct relationships with key partners.

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to define and launch strategic business initiatives.

  • Craft product and program launch roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional teams, identifying opportunities for partnerships, developing business terms and negotiating agreements to close.

  • Evaluate and develop new business engagement models that could apply to a wide range of news industry partners.
