As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

You will join a partnership organization that supports ongoing and future Google Health product development and commercialization efforts. Partnerships with these organizations may include licensing, joint-launch, acquisitions, etc. secured through varying types of business structures and legal agreements. You will develop strategies that enable healthcare businesses globally while working closely with teams. You develop deep relationships with partners including, but not limited to, health systems, and device manufacturers that are key for commercialization initiatives. You bring experience in business development in health applications and have communication and people management skills, the ability to clarify and summarize issues, business development skills, and attention to detail. You possess analytical skills regarding contractual, technical, and financial issues with partners and the ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management. You will create partnership leads and structuring, developing, managing custom agreements and new templates for initiatives to formalize relationships with partners. Additionally, you will help unblock teams, working cross-functionally, and provide mentorship to a broad set of roles inside and outside of your team.

Health Research has made major advances in healthcare AI research: detecting eye disease more quickly and accurately than experts, planning cancer radiotherapy treatment in seconds rather than hours, and working to detect patient deterioration before it happens with electronic records.

Fundamental research is at the core of Health Research - the multidisciplinary team collaborates with partners to publish novel research in renowned scientific journals. They then work to apply this research into the medical field, whether through Streams, our clinical assistant app, or other clinical hardware and products developed in Google. Working alongside colleagues across Google, you'll help make this vision a reality.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Science or health-related, MBA.

  • 8 years experience working on partnership agreements with corporations/companies across healthcare technology landscape.

  • Experience as/with: a Business Development executive in the healthcare (technology) space, working with C-level executives, forming and execute on Go-To-Market strategies in emerging areas at the intersection of healthcare and technology sectors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD or MD in Science or health-related

  • Experience modeling/analyzing various GTM approaches: licensing, OEM, direct sales etc.

  • Management experience at large institutions, with demonstrated track record of building new teams

  • Resourceful, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to structure creative agreement structures and develop conceptual solutions.

  • Professional contacts and network in the healthcare systems (providers, payors, devices, etc.) in the US and global regions

  • Define market/business needs and enable commercial success and build cross-functional support

  • Understand the products to drive technical pitch discussions and define partner influence and scope

  • Maintain an active industry network and identify and develop partner targets to execute market strategy and product vision

  • Coordinate internally with partner operations, legal, program management, product and finance; with other Alphabet BD/partnership teams on joint collaborations

  • Track financial/business milestones and participate in Joint Steering Committees representing Google's interests
