Strategic & Operational Readiness, Senior Manager (Hybrid)

Job Description

General Summary:

Biopharma Cell and Genetic Therapies (BCGT) is designed to accelerate our progress in bringing multiple new transformative medicines to patients in need. We are seeking an outstanding Senior Manager to join our fast-paced and growing team. This role will be responsible for supporting execution and oversight of the BCGT capex budget as it relates to equipment purchases and the related activities and project timelines. The successful candidate will supervise a cross-functional team to synthesize and create presentations for review by senior leadership (VPs and above). They will work with Scientists, Facility Engineering, Finance, and other groups to advance multiple strategic initiatives. This role will support GMP facilities and reports to the Associate Director, Materials Management and Planning, or designee.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and provide support for Capital Liaisons to ensure BCGT stays on budget, that budget execution is happening in a timely manner, that budget changes are reviewed and resolved quickly, and that the year-end budget cycle gathers all requests across BCGT.

• Support funding efforts for cross-departmental budget requests.

• Communicate across functional teams for alignment and prioritization on various projects and initiatives.

• Present incoming requests along with possible impact and justification to LT for approval and prioritization.

• Collaborate with other members of the Operational Readiness Team to evaluate request and summarize potential impact to project timelines.

• Drive decisions regarding prioritization of projects and initiatives.

• Manage multiple initiatives among multiple sites, applying best practices.

• Other duties and projects as assigned to meet departmental requirements.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of workflows for large- and small-scale facility modifications projects

• Familiarity with Finance and Accounting principles.

• Highly skilled at enabling goals of projects and effectively moving projects forward.

• Deeply interested in developing processes and systems to increase efficiency.

• Highly effective communicator (verbal and written) within all levels of the department and cross functionally throughout the organization; communicates complex ideas across project boundaries, gaining alignment and persuading others to act or adopt a different point of view.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, and fast-paced team environment, including influencing business leadership.

• Strong analytical problem solving and critical thinking skills.

• Highly skilled in data analysis, manipulation, and presentation using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint

• Knowledge of Oracle - based systems a plus.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in a GMP/pharmaceutical environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Self-directed and organized.

• Experienced in operations, finance, and project management.
