Over the past year, Flatiron School has expanded rapidly and we continue to see many exciting new opportunities for growth. The Strategic Initiatives Program Manager will work cross-functionally with the Flatiron School and WeWork teams to execute and scale new opportunities in service of our mission to enable the pursuit of a better life through education.
The Strategic Initiatives Program Manager is in charge of the launch, plus academic and operational success of Flatiron School's new strategic initiatives, which could be online or offline. This position requires strong project management skills, operational acumen, service orientation towards your teammates and our partners and students, and deep interest in creating exceptional program and educational experiences and results for students and partners in these new programs.
This role is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to ensure customer and partner satisfaction, program delivery excellence, and appropriate reporting/communications of progress across the company. We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating things that work.
Categories of Work
Build and run exceptional educational programs, working both within your team and across the company to scope and execute:
Work with the admissions and marketing team to build new campaigns, admissions processes, and work flows to attract the right target audiences and ensure our classes are full of the highest quality candidates
Work in tandem with the entire Online and On-campus teams to execute project management, and build infrastructure for instructional delivery, community-building, and student support
Create and maintain the documentation for running a successful program
Develop, track, and iterate on KPIs that demonstrate the program's effectiveness, both within and unique from the context of broader program offerings.
Align cross-functional stakeholder teams and drive the success of complex program launches (e.g. new educational courses and formats).
Engage with multiple workstreams across product, business, operations, and technology teams to ensure program vision and priorities are maintained throughout development planning and execution.
Work closely with the Technology team to scope and prioritize launch requirements prioritize the team's work.
Build relationships with key internal stakeholders including Curriculum, Teacher Training, Product & Engineering, Community, Analytics, and other teams
Evaluate, and drive iteration strategy on program such that it enhances the student success; ensure the infrastructure of our Online and On-campus Programs is working well for both students and staff:
Synthesize student and instructor feedback and make recommendations on program iteration
Continuously learn about student and staff experiences in our programs through shadowing, reading, reporting and data analysis, and keen observation
Listen deeply and frequently for feedback and experiences from stakeholders (students, staff, leadership), and identify areas where a new or updated procedure is needed
Create and manage project plans for new builds, and updates to existing process
Document workflows and resources with users in mind: Create clear, usable, and delightful resources for our team, considering every presentation and piece of collateral a critical communication
Communicate and train the team on new and updated procedure, driving adherence through buy-in and deep understanding of why we're doing what we're doing
Monitor project and processes through and past rollout, to determine how they're living within the program and team; iterate based on feedback
Collaborate with colleagues to identify, action, socialize and train on new or changing aspects of our programs
Thoughtfully craft and update workflows for teammates, considering their goals and priorities, and existing workflows and behaviors
Accept and incorporate feedback from teammates on new and updated procedures, tweaking our processes to align with our goals and priorities, and our team's existing workflows and behaviors
