Job Summary

The Strategic HR Business Partner position has two primary responsibilities: 1). To partner on client focused initiatives by providing individual and organizational coaching and consulting to leaders and employees and 2). To provide organizational development, team effectiveness and change management support as part of the overall employee experience and talent strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with business leaders and people managers in designated business units to deliver a spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support

  • Work in close partnership with designated leaders and managers on talent projects and ongoing people actions originating from talent review objectives and transformation plans

  • Facilitate on-going people development action planning to maximize people and team performance

  • Provide coaching and consulting to leaders and employees at all levels in the organization

  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure success and identify Talent gaps

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on various communication and change management plans and ongoing process improvements

  • Collaborate with centers of expertise, including Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Legal, and Ethics & Compliance

  • Assess readiness and obstacles to change and determine optimal pathways and methods to accomplish change

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field; Advanced Degree or certifications a plus

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience; talent management experience preferred; cultural change expertise a plus

  • Learning and Development and experience with Learning Management Systems and employee training a plus

  • Pharm/biotech industry experience or a related life sciences field a plus but not required

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience interfacing and collaborating with business leaders, managers and employees; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally

  • Experience with talent development practices including coaching and mentoring

  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data to inform appropriate solutions, and to measure impact

  • Strong project management experience

  • Subject matter knowledge in the performance management process

  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to make recommendations and to execute assignments

  • Experience with best-in-class and contemporary HR and a knowledge of relevant employment laws

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Integrity and the ability to appropriately handle confidential information

  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize work activities

  • Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and in a non-confrontational manner

  • Ability to problem solve using sound and accurate judgment

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities

  • Strong computer (Microsoft Office) & internet skills

  • Must have the knowledge and ability to participate in the development, implementation and administration of programs that have a broad impact across the organization

  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management

  • A welcoming and helpful attitude with high level of creativity, flexibility and openness to change
