As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

This application is intended for candidates who are eligible for full-time work authorization in the San Francisco Bay Area upon completing their education. Roles will be available across Google Finance including the following groups: Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury, Procurement, Finance Analytics, and Finance Operations.

As a Strategic Finance Analyst, you'll contribute analytical rigor and strategic thinking to drive our business forward. This is an exciting role that provides full finance support to business partners as well as offering scope for leadership of individual analytical projects. You will work in close partnership with highly talented finance colleagues from across the region and consult on planning, reporting and decision support for the wide range of activities that acquire, delight, and retain our users, advertisers, and employees.

Financial Planning & Analysis: In addition to assisting business leaders throughout the company with all finance-related matters, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization is also consistently looked upon to provide analytical perspectives to important strategic decisions.

Our mandate is to design, implement and manage the processes that support business needs. This includes developing financial forecasts and analyses, generating internal management reports, monitoring key performance indicators and driving the scaling and automation of financial processes. We also provide decision support and conduct financial reviews of a wide range of business issues from deal analysis to data center rollouts.

Finance Operations: The Finance Operations team manages Google's cash transactions on a global basis and ensures that Google's incoming and outgoing cash processes are controlled, effective and efficient.

Procurement: As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions.

Externally, you collaborate with our outsourcing partners and internally, you collaborate across the five areas of the Financial Operations team. As part of the Procure to Pay team, you will be responsible for the processes, infrastructure and support that power all of Googles buying across both Supply Chain and Indirect spend.

Treasury: The Treasury team consists of strong, creative performers with deep expertise in their respective fields.

We contribute to our companys growing global success by dealing with challenging issues and concepts and then applying them to rapidly evolving business models. In Treasury, we provide funding, risk management and mitigation support as well as investment oversight.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of relevant work experience in management and strategy consulting, data analysis, or financial services.

Currently in your final year of an MBA program.

Preferred qualifications:

Typically within 12-18 months of completing an MBA.

Ability to take initiative and work independently in an unstructured, fast-changing environment. Ability to comfortably handle ambiguity and make decisions.

Effective financial modeling skills and ability to understand trends in data, build forecasts, develop insights and turn them into strategies with high impact.

Effective communication and presentation skills to deliver findings of analysis and recommendations to stakeholders.

Effective problem solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment, strategic thinking.

Effective partnership and influencing skills during daily interactions with senior leaders in Sales, Finance, and Strategy and Operations teams.

Use Googles big data and creativity to architect metrics, report on the health of business, forecast future performance, and analyze opportunities.

Deliver insights into drivers of growth, costs, user metrics, and market trends. Identify risks and opportunities with actionable recommendations.

Lead decision making on resource allocations for products and sales investments, identify key market drivers that lead to growth.

Partner with Business leadership to establish vision for the business and collaborate with cross-functional teams to pursue growth strategies.
