The Opportunity

The Strategic Client Development Associate will serve as a critical liaison between the Mortgage Banking & Marketing groups in pursuit of high-value Berkadia clients. The associate will meet with Mortgage Bankers, the Senior VP of Client Services, Berkadia Corporate Leadership, and potentially prospective clients, to learn clients' needs and discuss Berkadia's strategies to win their business through marketing our services and associated deal financials. The associate will be responsible for translating the pitch strategy to the Marketing team to inform their development of collateral to support the pursuit of a specific deal or in support of a general client introduction, as well as using the client-specific developments and market trends to inform the Marketing team's updates to general market-facing collateral. The associate will play a critical role in transforming the Mortgage Banking group's use of Berkadia's marketing services, and in being responsible for effectively storyboarding Berkadia's responses to client needs, will be directly executing Corporate Leadership's strategy. As the associate matures in this role, the opportunities to inform pitch strategies and present pitches to prospective clients will increase, as will the associate's interaction with Corporate Leadership.

While the focus of this role will begin with Mortgage Banking, we will be pitching the full suite of Berkadia services to prospective clients, and over time this role may have more formal interactions with other Berkadia business units.

Examples of tasks include:

  • Pre-prospect-meeting discussions with Mortgage Bankers and Production leadership to learn prospect profiletransaction history, business structure, market position, company value, etc.and how to craft the appropriate pitch message

  • Gather and interpret requirements from client and prospective client documentation to inform Mortgage Banker and Marketing discussions

  • Storyboard pitch presentations with Marketing team to maintain the Mortgage Banking group's voice, Corporate Leadership's strategy, and Berkadia's unique value throughout the messaging

  • Meet with Mortgage Banking and Corporate Leadership to discuss trends in client needs/Berkadia pitches and inform forward-facing go-to-market strategy

What the Associate will need to be successful in this role

  • Exceptional ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to represent and manage the expectations/priorities of multiple user groups in delivering client-specific solutions

  • Ownership attitude can structure and synthesize complex, ambiguous problems, and determine a path forward, including requesting the resources necessary to accomplish the task

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Can-do, proactive attitude that can mean making suggestions and giving options rather than waiting for answers

What is required for this role

  • Bachelor's degree required; Business-related or Communications field of study preferred;

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience; previous experience in a business analyst or strategic communications capacity required, preferably at a consulting company or in a similar environment

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

This role provides operational support to ensure the delivery of Berkadia's HR processes and tools to our employees. The HR Operations Associate manages a high volume of transactions while maintaining the data integrity of our employees' information. General HR Administration * Personnel File management. Maintains confidentiality of financial information, insurance and litigation documents, employee information (e.g. wage information, discipline, health information) and other sensitive and confidential information. * HR Department Invoicing * Submission of expenses, travel coordination, scheduling meetings, conference registration, etc.; * Reviewing business card requests, confirming information and accept/reject orders for printing; * Maintaining and replenishing office supply inventories for department; * Accepts and processes FedEx deliveries for Human Resources team as needed * Developing content for employee intranet site and creating additional forms of communication and collateral for events (flyers, posters, etc.) * Completes New Hire Welcome Mat Orders; * Ensures employment poster compliance at all US locations. Communicating updates and ensuring office managers about what they need to do. Vendor management and financial/invoicing review. * Review and filing of all incoming inquiries/employee messages to general HR inbox. Employee Life Cycle Support, Admin * Processes background check orders through our third-party vendor and monitors completion. Escalates any findings/results to HR Operations Manager for adjudication. * Entering new hires into ADP, follows HR SOP for Onboarding. o Ensuring all new hire documents are saved in SharePoint (Offer Letter, COI, Resume, etc.) o Responding to all assigned SharePoint Onboarding tasks o Verification of SSN o Verify that new users complete ESS o Input new hire roles data into PSFinance o Collection and completion of I9s; entering into I9 portal * Entering terminations in HRIS and follow HR SOP for all kinds of separations. o Drafting separation notices/letters and communicating with Benefits regarding COBRA § Checking system for tuition reimbursement, sign on bonus, etc. with claw backs. o Saving all relevant documents into SharePoint (resignation letter, HRBP notes, etc.) o Communication with Payroll, IT and Facilities regarding upcoming departures o Communicate to Manager of terminating EE regarding email forwarding, PTO, etc. using HR Ops Manager's template o Exiting employee "concierge service" including communication to exiting employee regarding (1) Thank them for their service at Berkadia, etc. (2) Confirm exiting EE's personal email, phone, and home address (3) collect resignation letter that is signed, if missing from initial docs (4) Scheduling Exit Interviews for HRBP team (HRBP will also review separation letter) (5)sending Link/Invitation to employees for survey, etc. * Employee Data Changes – following assigned SOP activities o ESS § Employee name changes; coordinating with IT, Benefits, etc. once appropriate documentation received § Address changes – confirming addresses, ensuring work location is correct, communicating with Payroll o MSS/HRBP Support § Processing job changes: promotions, transfers, etc. approved by HRBP team * Create promotion and transfer letters; sending to HRBP and EE's manager for approval of letter. Assist with consultation of MSS support if needed. Ensures manager has copy of JD * Provides 'full package' of details to HR Ops Manager for final approval in workflow.
