The Strategic Client Development Associate will serve as a critical liaison between the Mortgage Banking & Marketing groups in pursuit of high-value Berkadia clients. The associate will meet with Mortgage Bankers, the Senior VP of Client Services, Berkadia Corporate Leadership, and potentially prospective clients, to learn clients' needs and discuss Berkadia's strategies to win their business through marketing our services and associated deal financials. The associate will be responsible for translating the pitch strategy to the Marketing team to inform their development of collateral to support the pursuit of a specific deal or in support of a general client introduction, as well as using the client-specific developments and market trends to inform the Marketing team's updates to general market-facing collateral. The associate will play a critical role in transforming the Mortgage Banking group's use of Berkadia's marketing services, and in being responsible for effectively storyboarding Berkadia's responses to client needs, will be directly executing Corporate Leadership's strategy. As the associate matures in this role, the opportunities to inform pitch strategies and present pitches to prospective clients will increase, as will the associate's interaction with Corporate Leadership.
While the focus of this role will begin with Mortgage Banking, we will be pitching the full suite of Berkadia services to prospective clients, and over time this role may have more formal interactions with other Berkadia business units.
Examples of tasks include:
Pre-prospect-meeting discussions with Mortgage Bankers and Production leadership to learn prospect profiletransaction history, business structure, market position, company value, etc.and how to craft the appropriate pitch message
Gather and interpret requirements from client and prospective client documentation to inform Mortgage Banker and Marketing discussions
Storyboard pitch presentations with Marketing team to maintain the Mortgage Banking group's voice, Corporate Leadership's strategy, and Berkadia's unique value throughout the messaging
Meet with Mortgage Banking and Corporate Leadership to discuss trends in client needs/Berkadia pitches and inform forward-facing go-to-market strategy

What is required for this role
Bachelor's degree required; Business-related or Communications field of study preferred;
Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience; previous experience in a business analyst or strategic communications capacity required, preferably at a consulting company or in a similar environment
Ability to travel up to 20%
