SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Coordinates the long-term scheduling of production and the availability of materials to support the plans of the consumers products brands. Also coordinates and manages the overall capacity plans for product manufacturing base.
Responsible for the initiation, management, and coordination of production, materials, and inventory plans; timing and location of additional capacity; allocation of production and transfer requirements to the manufacturing locations. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and maintaining the overall capacity plans and coordinating the execution of those plans. The position provides strategic planning input for long-term business issues involving capacity, materials, and customer service and work direction to planners and the Supply Chain team.
Lead supply chain team activities to improve sales, production scheduling, and finished goods deployment to support business plans while minimizing inventory investment, total delivered costs, warehouse space impact, obsolete inventories and efficiently utilizing manufacturing resources.
Coordinate and manage the long-term capacity planning effort to ensure customer needs are met while optimizing the utilization of manufacturing, converting and distribution assets
Develop inventory management programs and procurement strategies.
Recommend actions when production, materials, and customer service imbalances exist.
Recommend capacity changes, location, and timing when appropriate and advise of production, inventory and distribution consequences of alternative sales plans.
Contribute as a team member, leader and/or representative of the Logistics function in supporting projects, and activities not included in other principal accountabilities to assist in the accomplishment of established objectives.

Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates and other team members in a manner that is timely, complete, concise and responsive.
10+ years Planning and/or Operations experience
Previous planning experience required
Strong computer/technical skills preferred including SAP, Business Warehouse, Excel and SharePoint
Ability to effectively organize, plan, control, and communicate production and materials plans with headquarters and mill units.
