Cook Children's Strategic Business and Financial Analyst is responsible for reporting and analysis to the leadership and management of the corporate accounting and finance function for a 12-company pediatric health system in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

As the Strategic Business and Financial Analyst, you would be responsible for performing:

  • financial, operational, revenue cycle
  • statistical analysis in order to drive operational and financial improvement initiatives.

You will develop and disseminate key operational & financial benchmarks. This dissemination of data includes presentations to different stakeholder groups and senior executive leadership and will require strong written and oral communication skills.

You must show initiative and the ability to work independently. Cook Children's expects the Strategic Business and Financial Analyst must be able to lead large projects and be comfortable coordinating and communicating with all levels of the organization. Your will lead the organizations effort to understand and benchmark against the PROSPECT Children's Hospital Association's financial and operational data tool.

You will work closely with Cook Children's Senior Vice President of Finance, and Chief Financial Officer. Our Strategic Business and Financial Analyst must be able to translate highly technical results to both technical and not technical customers. You will need to demonstrate the ability to navigate complex data and be able to consistently validate data for timeliness, reliability, and usefulness. This role is directly responsible for:

  • financial accounting (GL / AP)
  • financial & management reporting
  • treasury


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (or similar) is required.

  • Masters' Degree, preferably Masters' of Business Administration (experience in lieu of degree may be considered).

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in healthcare experience is required providing key data for decision making.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Analytical ability required to evaluate and interpret financial, statistical, revenue cycle, and operational data in order to make sound and objective recommendations for strategic options.

  • Ability to evaluate highly complex performance data and determine if objectives are being met. If not, develop and recommend strategic options to improve stated objectives.

  • Working knowledge of financial acumen and ability to recognize operational deficiencies through data and effectively translate/communicate outcomes and value driven opportunities to leadership.

  • Understanding of challenges in an integrated healthcare organization including knowledge of operations, legislation, regulatory, and reimbursement.

  • Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SQL

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Requires a fundamental knowledge of software that supports business and should be proficient within 90 days. Examples include, Lawson, Epic, Strata and other data repositories.

VIEW JOBS 2/26/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-26T00:00 JOB SUMMARY The Sr. Financial Analyst position is responsible for the financial analysis and reporting of Textron's functional IT costs. This role is also responsible for supporting transactional processes between our infrastructure and telecommunication suppliers, Textron Information Services (TIS) and the Textron Business Units. In addition, this position supports the Enterprise telecom expense management (TEM) process, requiring a high degree of interaction with the telecom carriers, TEM service provider and internal customers. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Prepare and publish IT functional cost analysis for the Textron Business Units. This analysis includes actionable information regarding IT inventory, consumption and spending patterns to support continued IT cost control. * Assist in the development of the TIS and Enterprise IT functional cost budgets * Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for areas of responsibility * Manage the transactional processes ensuring the timely invoicing and payment of infrastructure and telecom services, as well as accurate cost distribution to the Textron Business Units * Provide Enterprise support for telecom service provisioning, service cost optimization, policy development and carrier contract renewals * Work directly with the enterprise infrastructure and telecom suppliers in the areas of service delivery, invoicing, dispute resolution, product/service pricing and performance reviews * Collaborate with the Textron Business Units and Corporate functions to provide necessary support and training that aligns to our strategic objectives * Develop and implement guidelines, standard work processes, tools and best practices to assist the Enterprise in effective IT financial management * Provide decision and project support, as needed EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field * Minimum 3 years in Accounting or Finance positions (preferably with exposure to the telecommunications industry) SKILLS/COMPETENCIES * Strong analytical, technical and communication skills * Capable of meeting aggressive deadlines, which may require overtime * High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, general ledger and financial planning software * Capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment Textron Fort Worth TX
