Role and Responsibilities
POSITION & REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY:
A Strategic Analyst is responsible for delivering actionable data-driven insight to management through in-depth business, market, and internal analysis. The ideal candidate is a naturally inquisitive, strategic thinker who can demonstrate creative ways to find and deliver insight. This is a fast-paced position where the candidate will need to deliver across the organization and at varying levels of leadership. This position offers high-level visibility and potential for significant career growth.
Lead data-driven efforts and initiatives focused on profitability improvement, growth, and optimization of operations
Produce research and analysis on industry and macro trends. Assist in examining strategic issues facing the business and provide recommendation on emerging opportunities
Research, write, and deliver industry reports for internal or public consumption, support CAE's thought leadership efforts
Work with senior leaders to develop business cases with fully formed market analyses, financial models and recommendations
Assist in the preparation of the annual strategic plan and support best practice messaging, slide creation, and presentation style
Prepare presentation materials and analysis for senior management meetings, board meetings, conferences and other outside meetings
Working closely with senior executives on other special projects, as needed
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management or equivalent combination of experience and studies
Minimum 2 years of experience in management consulting, equity research or has been part of leadership rotation program in a corporation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient at presenting business concepts, structuring business data and models and influencing executive leaders
Strong research and financial analysis competency
Proficient (Advanced level) with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strategic mindset with ability to collaborate closely with various functions including Finance, Business Development, Technical teams, and Marketing
Organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects
Experience analyzing aerospace and defense, civil aviation and/or healthcare markets
Familiarity with business intelligence tools (PowerBI)
Experience with financial tools (Bloomberg, CapIQ, Thomson)
Complies with and enforces all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures both at CAE and wherever CAE is represented (i.e., program site, trade show, etc.).
Performs all duties in compliance with and enforces all applicable legal and ethical standards including: CAE's Code of Business Conduct, CAE's policies and procedures, country laws and regulations, Federal and States or Provincial Laws, policies and standards.
Maintains security of all proprietary information.
Performs other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.
