The Senior Account Manager cultivates and maintains AssistRxs relationship with our Pharmaceutical manufacturing partners. In this role, you'll be working with pharmaceutical executives (Associate Director and above) on a daily basis to ensure they are receiving maximum value from iAssists features and services. The Pharmaceutical Account Manager presents new ideas and innovations to clients, upselling and enhancing their product and is the liaison between the Pharmaceutical Brand Teams and all key AssistRx stakeholders.

Experience working with Pharmaceutical Brand Teams is essential.

Project Management, HUB Operations or Specialty Pharmacy Operations/Account Management strongly desired.

Technical skills a must


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Forms strategic partnership with clients by developing a working knowledge of their business goals, technical challenges and infrastructure configurations to ensure an outstanding customer experience.
  • Establish and maintain a role as advisor to clients and colleagues.
  • Present new ideas and innovations to client to upsell and enhance their products and services.
  • Research high-level solutions for the client.
  • Develop the relationship with the client through regular meetings/conference calls to review service quality and ensure they are receiving maximum benefit from iAssists features and benefits.
  • Works with Client Services to solve complex support issues effectively.
  • Manages the delivery of recommended/agreed-upon services to achieve high client satisfaction and trust.
  • Determines most effective method of problem resolution by utilizing internal resources when necessary.
  • Primary point of contact for sales and service.

  • Participates in client quarterly reviews, attends annual Plan Of Action meetings and other travel as needed.
  • Plan milestones and track progress.

Language and Communication Skills:

  • Ability to effectively express ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form.

  • Effectively keeps others adequately informed by presenting information to everyone involved.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in a customer support and/or sales capacity role.
  • Experience working for or in Pharma.

SM The Senior Account Executive Specialty Benefits will work with Brokers and Consultants as well as health plan sales and account management teams to drive sales of Dental, Vision, Financial protection & Voluntary Benefits in the assigned marketplace. The Specialty AE will be accountable for exceeding their Specialty Sales quota while promoting the full UHC employer paid and voluntary portfolio externally. This position will be aligned with the market segment, defined as 51 to 3,000 lives and/or 100-3,000 lives Primary Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain strong broker/consultant relationships. * Develop and maintain key internal relationships. * Understand customer and broker/consultant needs and provide value-added consultation. * Identify key brokers/consultants for management development. * Understand goals, operating principles, strategies and competitive position of specialty benefits portfolio * In-depth Specialty Benefits knowledge and understanding of market trends. * Demonstrate knowledge of competitor's strengths, weaknesses and strategies. Understand medical management operations and strategies. * Understand financing methodologies and strategies * Thorough knowledge of UHC underwriting principles and practices. * Develop and maintain target prospects and drive tactics to win * Negotiate based on broker/customer feedback with underwriting; leveraging product discount programs to maximize the best value to the customer * Drive the sales process, including creating strategy memos and hosting calls with internal stakeholders * Conduct in-depth presentations in the Market * Present a positive image of UHG in the marketplace. * Community involvement through professional organizations, associations and local organization. * Create and drive strategies for top producing agencies and Brokers * Collaborate with Sales Management and/or Health Plan leadership regarding pipeline, persistency, market objectives and develop competitive strategies to win in the market You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
