The Strategic Account Manager position generates revenue by pursuing new business opportunities and building profitable customer relationships within the plan spec and aftermarket distribution channels.
A Big Ass Strategic Account Manager serves as the sales leader for identified distributors, and is accountable for the performance of the distribution partner. Candidates must have the ability to develop a technical understanding of Big Ass Fans products and capabilities and effectively communicate them with distribution partners. The Strategic Account Manager will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, product management, planning, and manufacturing in order to provide customer support through the entire sales process. They will also formulate business strategies and implement plans to grow overall sales revenue and market share within specific accounts, vertical segments and region.
Managing and driving the success and growth of key accounts by:
Developing and articulating effective value propositions
Conducting training sessions and ride-alongs with sales reps
Presenting lunch and learns and proposals
Understanding and articulating competitive positioning
Exceeding key business targets for sales, revenue, margins, customer satisfaction and retention, and business development
Identify, engage, plan and develop new regional accounts.
Coordinate client relationship opportunities such as project proposals, budgeting, service contracts and work orders.
Enhance current account and business opportunities by working with regional resources.
Inform detailed work status and progress to Sales Director and meet deadlines.
Represent and drive company initiatives at conferences and trade associations.
Oversee opportunity and lead progression through opportunity pipeline reports.
Complete monthly forecast reports determining revenue vs. goal forecasts to inform management on developments.
Handle industry partner programs relationships to summon and discuss market and customers.
Supervise marketing material and programs relative to region and accounts.
Sell target accounts, identify prospects and create new ideas to generate revenue and new opportunities.
Requirements for the role:
5-10 years experience in Account Management and/or Territory Sales.
Strong account management and relationship building skills
Technical experience and knowledge of mechanical equipment
Impeccable communication skills
Up to 50% travel
