You're a highly motivated solution sales professional with experience owning and managing all aspects of the sales cycle. You're passionate about contributing to the achievement of business results by exceeding quotas and establishing strong customer relationships. As an Strategic Account Executive at Dataminr, you're ready to harness your sales experience and jump into a high-growth tech startup to help us build out a new sales territory. You'll leverage your deep understanding of the Communications & Media industry and align all lines of Dataminr's business to your client's needs, selling deep and wide wherever possible, both vertically and horizontally to ensure all lines of business are connected across relevant company or divisional contacts. You'll build out a brand new portfolio of business in this virtually untapped region, and help shape this brand new vertical for Dataminr.
Develop and manage a robust pipeline of sales opportunities within the Communications & Media sector with an emphasis on solution mix and cross selling
Plan and implement sales strategy for Dataminr's Communications & Media sector in EMEA by leveraging market knowledge and developing product positioning and value propositions
Engage with customers at the executive level to go wider and deeper into existing accounts and target new customer acquisition
Provide business development and thought leadership to grow the Communications & Media sector through opportunity identification, identifying adjacencies, driving new capabilities and incremental business success
Achieve sales KPIs and target within required time frames
Develop strategic sales plans to optimize the mutual value of the relationship between the customer and Dataminr
Develop deep insights regarding customer use cases, internal decision making nuances, budget cycles and other key information necessary to close the sale and shape the success of this new vertical
Strategically navigate and influence stakeholders in the buying process including users, influencers and budget decision makers
Identify ways to integrate Dataminr into our customers' workflows and recommending best practices
Maintain constant awareness of markets and competitive activity, making appropriate strategic and tactical sales recommendations to always stay one step ahead
Ensure a regular and productive feedback loop to provide customer insights in order to enable the continuous improvement of Dataminr solutions
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; MBA a plus
7+ years of experience selling enterprise technology solutions in a fast-paced, competitive market, preferably within an early stage company entering the growth phase
Depth and breadth of experience in the Communications & Media sector with an emphasis on media, news and entertainment, and telecommunications, including a strong personal network
Knowledge of the open source and social media analysis efforts of corporate clients, preferably in the Communications & Media sector
Track record of quota overachievement and ability to deliver consistently against targets
Experience selling into global strategic accounts, including C-suite
Deep understanding of sales process and business drivers for enterprise clients
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Superior communication and presentation skills
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM a plus
Additional language such as German, French, Spanish or other European language strongly preferred
Open to travel as required
