Sealaska Technical Services (STS) is a critical subcontractor on the N3B Los Alamos LLC team and will be providing program management and technical services in support of the ground & surface water monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory.
STS is a full-service engineering and environmental consulting company with a worldwide reach in the areas of environmental monitoring and remediation, national security, systems engineering, data management and analytics for both federal and commercial customers. STS is currently seeking an experienced Civil or Environmental Engineer with 5-15 years of experience for immediate employment. Applicants should be a Registered Professional Engineer New Mexico licensed preferred, experienced in stormwater design.
The successful applicant will become a member of our Los Alamos project team providing program management and technical services in support of the surface water and groundwater monitoring program at the U.S. Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory. The Stormwater Design Engineer is expected to lead the design of surface water corrective measures, perform surface water evaluation and data analysis/visualization, prepare design and permitting documents, and support engineering and construction in a team-oriented project environment.

The project's mission is to safely and efficiently complete the cleanup of legacy contamination and waste resulting from nuclear weapons development and government-sponsored nuclear research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory site.
Los Alamos, New Mexico is a scenic mountain town located 30 miles northwest of Santa Fe, built on mesa tops, with 360-degree views of canyons, mountains, forests and the New Mexico sky. Once part of the top-secret World War II Manhattan Project, the Los Alamos National Laboratory site has a rich history. Lead design of storm water corrective actions, development of construction, operations, and maintenance cost estimates
Conduct remedial alternative analysis
Prepare design documents for the corrective measures that are implemented
Provide construction support including design changes and completion reports for each project
Maintain engineering configuration control of design documents
Perform surface water evaluation and data analysis/visualization
Support safety and quality audits and findings to confirm construction compliance and permit coordination
Maintain the water sampling and analysis plan
Assign analytical processing requirements for water samples retrieved
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college or university.
5-15 years' experience; however, a combination of education and relevant experience is acceptable.
Registered Professional Engineer or expectation to receive registration within 6 months.
Experience with AutoCAD 3D civil and ArcGIS software tools.
Familiarity or experience with the U.S. Department of Energy work environment is preferred but not mandatory
The qualified candidate may be required to attain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance (must be a U.S. Citizen)
