This position is responsible for assisting with the installation and operation of a remote TV camera system to capture video inside storm sewer pipes

  • Locates of pipe sections to be videoed, determines setup and confined space procedures.

  • Assists with set up of Traffic Control Devices at work site: places signs, cones, and flags traffic.

  • Assists in preparing manholes for camera deployment and positioning in pipe.

  • Operates robotic camera equipment and records footage, identifying pipe/structure defects and uploads digital video data to CCG server.

  • Confers with supervisor to discuss condition of videoed sewer lines and prepares report.

  • Drives Camera Truck, pickup truck or cargo van to haul personnel and equipment.

  • Maintains, services, adjusts, and makes minor repairs to camera, equipment and attachments.

  • Coordinates with Stormwater Data Technician I on efficient and safe use of camera and equipment, work methods and safety precautions.

  • Maintains, calibrates, and services water testing equipment and instruments.

  • Conducts Field Screening Analyses (chemical and physical tests) of Storm Sewer Systems flow.

  • Performs flow tracing to identify and eliminate any flow source and pollutants.

  • Participates in annual creek walk.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of local stormwater ordinances and regulations.

  • Knowledge of State Environmental Protection Division water regulations.

  • Knowledge of computer programs related to: video capture and download, database input and manipulation, and GIS applications.

  • Knowledge of the equipment and instrumentation used in water sampling.

  • Skill in the use of personal computers and job related software programs.

  • Skill in the collection of water samples and in the use of field and laboratory testing equipment.

  • Ability to develop and maintain both written and electronic records.

  • Ability to read blueprints, maps and construction drawings.

  • Skill in problem solving and decision-making.

  • Skill in oral and written communication.

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and occasionally heavy objects and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.

  • Pushing - use upper extremities to press against objects with force, or thrust forward, downward, outward.

  • Reaching - extending hands or arms in any direction.

  • Repetitive Motion - substantial movements of wrists, hands, fingers.

  • Speaking - expressing ideas with spoken word, convey detailed, important instructions accurately, concisely.

  • Stooping - bending body downward, forward at waist, with full motion of lower extremities and back.

  • Talking 1- expressing ideas by spoken word

  • Talking 2 - shouting to be heard above ambient noise.

  • Visual Acuity 1 - prepare, analyze data, transcribing, computer terminal, extensive reading.

  • Visual Acuity 2 - color, depth perception, field of vision.

  • Visual Acuity 3 - determine accuracy, neatness, observe facilities/structures.

The work is typically performed outdoors in the field. The employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work is performed occasionally in cold or inclement weather, and requires the use of protective devices. The work regularly requires work in and around confined spaces.
