Job Summary:

This position is to support clients during/after a natural disaster event, ensuring the

integrity of client facilities and customer electrical services and the timely restoration


Overview of Duties:

  • Identify the difference between electrical lines and telecommunication lines.

  • Identify Overhead and Underground electrical facilities including primary and secondary wire, service wire, pole mounted transformers, fuses, gang switches, reclosers, regulators, padmount transformers, padmount switch gear, etc.

  • Read and understand a distribution circuit map and label where facilities are in

need of repair.Complete client specific damage report.

  • Identify the difference between customer owned facilities and utility facilities.

  • Prepare a construction sketch complete with a materials list for a line crew to utilize to restore damaged facilities.

  • Available to work the daily hours required by the client utility until completion of

the restoration process or until released, typically 16 hours per day for periods of time.

  • Utilize GPS, binoculars, cell phone, and/or client radio as necessary.

  • Wear proper personal protective equipment at all times while engaged in the

restoration process. (Provided by TRC Solutions, excludes clothing and footwear)


  • Follow Code of Safe Practices as outlined in the company safety policies.

  • Possess the working knowledge of the Occupational Safety and HealthAdministration (OSHA) requirements specific to the individual's job responsibility.

  • Maintain vigilant awareness of surroundings to ensure safety of all storm teammembers, utility personnel and the general public.

  • Responsible to maintain a safe and healthful place of work.

  • Responsible for your own safety. This includes inspecting your own workplace on a

daily basis and promptly reporting unsafe/unhealthful conditions to the


  • Report all work-related injury or illness, however slight, to management.

  • Make recommendations for a safer workplace and/or work practices.

  • Personal protective equipment must be used when and where required, and

properly maintained.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent


  • Minimum of 2 years of construction or engineering experience in distribution.

  • Good understanding of the storm restoration and scouting processes.

  • Management may consider other education and work experience to beacceptable for appointment to this position.
