TITLE

Storeroom Technician

LOCATION

Longmont, Colorado

REPORTS TO

SQMS Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the manufacture of consumer foods which comply with all food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Understands and supports company and site safety policies and performs work related activities in a safe manner. Recognizes unsafe work conditions, coaches peers, and suggests new safety standards as appropriate

  • Ensures integrity in inventory accuracy through proper receiving, conducting daily cycle counts, and following checkout procedures

  • Manages parts counter and can assist customers when needed to locate and check out parts

  • Owns inventory flow by restocking shelves, issuing parts to work orders, delivering parts, and receiving returned parts back into stock

  • Runs inventory reports; ensures critical spare parts are available

  • Follows and enforces storeroom best practices to optimize spare part inventory to meet the business need

  • Works with external vendors to identify and procure parts, including seeking new parts to improve machine reliability and standardizing spare parts

  • Owns a storeroom result area

  • Plans and executes small storeroom projects

  • Fulfills parts reservations (kitting parts) for upcoming planned work

  • Maintains spare parts database by updating incorrect item descriptions, part numbers, etc.

  • Works with Storeroom Leader to reduce on hand inventory through the optimization of minimum and maximum order quantities and managing slow-moving and obsolete parts

  • Handles out of stock and emergency spare parts issues

  • Tracks PMA and warranty parts

  • Prepares shipments and track outgoing vendor repairs

  • Conducts daily housekeeping procedures in the storeroom and maintain 5S areas to standard

  • Other duties as assigned

SELECTION CRITERIA

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • A minimum of 1-2 years previous manufacturing experience required

  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience with computerized management software (inventory, maintenance, or purchasing, etc)

  • A minimum of 1-2 years experience with industrial equipment parts

  • Experience in inventory management preferred

  • Experience working in a parts storeroom preferred

  • Experience with inventory management software preferred

Other

  • Willing to work 12-hour shifts and overtime as needed

  • Willing to work a flexible schedule as needed

  • Able to read, understand, and follow documents such as safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and general instructions

  • Able to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions

  • Good communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to provide excellent customer service

  • Able to work both independently and on a team

  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Self-motivated and can work accurately and independently with minimal direct supervision

  • Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Builds effective relationships at all levels within the plant

  • Identifies improvement opportunities and implements change

  • Able to solve problems, handle stressful situations, and act with a sense of urgency

  • Understands technical systems and terminology

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications

  • Able to learn company specific computer systems

  • Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed

  • Able to perform the key responsibilities outlined above in accordance with safety standards and practices

  • Physical requirements of the job include the ability to:

o Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

o Stand, sit, walk, enter confined spaces, push, pull, kneel, squat, and climb

o Perform repetitive actions, reach, and feel

o Hear, speak, and see

This role is a rotational offline support role. The candidate should anticipate being in this role for approximately 3 years before rotating into an online technician role.
