Position Summary The Storeroom Clerk is responsible for Supply Chain Services to include, warehousing operations (receiving, put-away, picking), distribution operations (movement of all supplies), inventory management (cycle counts, inventories, Perpetual PAR maintenance, product rotation, quality, recalls, backorders), and department equipment upkeep. Under general supervision, performs and coordinates specialized work associated with the dispensing of medical-surgical supplies throughout the medical center/hospital through the use of electronic supply chain management systems. Provides liaison services between Supply Chain leadership, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in acquiring the desired products or services according to the defined schedule.

The Unit Clerk performs clerical duties and is also responsible for preparation and maintenance of the patients chart including order transcription. Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient records is an extremely important aspect of this position. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors Maintains medical records of patients on unit. Enters requests such as patient assignments into the computer, optilink or manual system in a timely and accurate fashion Answers and places phone calls Answers patient call lights and communicates information to nursing staff. Demonstrates effective time management Maintains established inventories of supplies. Maintains an orderly environment at the nurses station utilize Assures smooth clerical operation on the unit. Adheres to WPH policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance and submission of annual physicals Utilizes the computer for order entry and for ordering supplies. Verifies stock supplies and prepares requisitions to maintain established inventories. Transports supplies and specimens and performs other errands as requested. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Education Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent Previous work experience with some knowledge of clerical and hospital procedure preferred. Previous experience with computer and/or office machines preferred. Ability to remain in stationary position 90% of the time Ability to concentrate on fine detail with interruption, attend to tasks for more than 60 minutes at a time, attend to multiple tasks at the same time while maintaining accuracy. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
