Job Duties

This position is with the Department of Corrections' Corrections Construction Unit. Position reports at the Corrections Construction office located in Powhatan, Virginia.

Position is responsible for all aspects of Corrections Construction Unit in inventory and control of construction related tools, keys, and construction equipment and construction materials. Maintain compliance with established VADOC and CCU inventory control procedures. A tool room coordinator safeguards the CCU tool investment by maintaining the optimal level of tools, ensures that all tools are accounted for and are accessible and ensures that tools are in good repair.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience with warehouse inventory control, maintenance tools, supplies and equipment. Knowledge in commonly used construction and maintenance terminology, and descriptions of construction tools and components. Experience in purchasing, requisitioning and receiving procedures. Skilled in use of a computer, to include Microsoft Office programs and ability to complete Web-based training. Ability to exercise independent judgement and make decisions. Attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to operate warehouse type equipment, (ie:forklift)

Ability to lift items 0-75lbs and work in both inside and outside environments. Ability to be reliable and responsible to arrive at worksite 6:30AM Monday-Thursday. Ability to work in an environment with daily institutional inmate presence.

Additional Considerations

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A endorsement. Experience in inventory control and distribution.

Experience with computer databases and inventory control systems. Forklift operator certification.
