Storekeeper-Nutrition Services

Overview

Receives, stores, and issues food and supplies. Purchases perishable stock, food and supplies. Performs inventory control functions.

Responsibilities

Performs inventory and orders chemicals, paper products, produce, beverages, food items, and nutritional supplements. Calculates inventory need utilizing system software and transmits orders for items listed above via fax, internet, or phone.

Receives all food and non-food products coming into Food and Nutrition Services. Checks invoices for proper quality and quantity. Performs data entry to identify products ordered, received and issued.

Sends back damaged products and generates credits according to established procedures. Communicates with Manager regarding shortages, availability and quality of products received. Dates and rotates products received.

Fills all departmental supply requisitions. Communicates with appropriate area staff concerning supply issues. Maintains storeroom, walk-in refrigerator, and freezer. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• High school graduate with 2 years in food supply procurement and specifications.

• Good organizational and communication skills desired.

• Basic computer skills helpful.
