Duties:Supervises the preparation and delivery of daily purchase requests to theinstitution; supervises the processing of state property supply order andrequests; responsible for receiving all maintenance UPS and stock items;oversees weekly inventory report to insure stock levels are maintained andstock purchased when inventory falls under the critical re-order pointdetermined by historical usage data; verifies all deliveries with purchaseorders to ensure receipt of what was actually ordered; checks items deliveredwith enclosed packing slip to verify delivery counts and conditions of delivereditems; ensures that CD16 Receiving Document is prepared and forwarded toBusiness Office within twenty four (24) hours of receipt of goods; notifiesdepartments that materials were received, and arranges delivery or pick-up ofall items received; responsible for inventory at the end of each month;provides supervision to subordinate staff and supervises inmate workers; otherduties as assigned.

Applicants must have no felony convictions, toinclude any actions defined in 5 U.S.C. 301; U.S.C. 509, 510; 42 U.S.C.15601-15609.

The Massachusetts Department of Correction shall not hireanyone who may have direct contact with offenders, who has engaged in sexualabuse in a prison or other institution as defined in 42 U.S.C. 1997; or hasbeen convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in thecommunity facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force or coercion,or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse, or hasbeen civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activitydescribed in the above paragraph.

The agency shall consider any incidents of sexualharassment in determining whether to hire anyone who may have contact withoffenders or residents.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:

Applicants must have (A) at least three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in storekeeping work in a storeroom, stockroom or warehouse, the major duties of which included receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity.

Repair, test and install varioustypes of heating equipment including placement of fuel supply lines, air ducts,pumps, and other parts in a heating and exhaust system. Inspect the work ofoutside contractor visually to ensure compliance with agency safety code andregulations. Install and service all size air conditioning and refrigerationequipment. Perform related duties such as reviewing technical literature tokeep abreast of developments in the field. Attend meetings, seminars,workshops, etc. to exchange information. Maintain reports such as time andproduction, repair, attendance, cost analysis, etc. Provide complete andadequate coverage of the energy management systems. Perform daily inventoryreports on all shop tools. Initiate a preventative maintenance program toinclude all HVAC equipment located at the institution. Performs EPRS onsubordinate staff in compliance with established procedures. Provide trainingand instruction to subordinate staff on maintenance procedures. Performs otherrelated maintenance functions as required. Applicant must possess a Refrigeration Technician License issued by theMA Department of Public Safety and a Freon. PreferredQualifications: Musthave three to five years of experience working in the HVAC/Refrigeration. Astrong background in pneumatic control systems for heating and ventilation.Good physical condition. Ability to drive a variety of motor vehicles. This is a Civil Service position. Candidate must take and pass the next Civil ServiceExamination for this title and score must be reached in order to be consideredfor a permanent appointment. The selected candidate will have to submit to apsychological and drug screening and must attend a five (5) week RecruitAcademy.
