  • stop to help a neighbor select the perfect toy for a terrier that likes to chew
  • review and compare the ingredient labels of several food brands for a concerned cat parent
  • fit a squirming dachshund with the perfect harness
  • educate a sixth grader on bird ownership
  • stock shelves and ring up neighbors? purchases
  • feed all the furry pets and make sure their cages are spiffy

A Pet Supplies Plus team member will likely do it all, but may specialize in any of the following areas:

Cashier

  • Processes neighbors? purchases with trustworthy accuracy and efficiency

  • Provides Preferred Pet Club membership information to ensure neighbors don?t miss any outstanding offers

?

Stocker

  • Safely unloads our delivery trucks using the proper equipment

  • Stocks shelves to ensure Fido always gets his favorite chew toy and treats

  • Carries bags of kibble, cat litter, aquariums and other purchases out to neighbors? cars

Pet Care

  • Provides care for pets in our store, which may include cleaning habitats, feeding and handling the animals

  • Answers neighbor?s questions on animal care to help them find or maintain the perfect pet

VIEW JOBS 4/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-18T00:00 Under limited supervision, is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance to all production and packaging mechanical equipment and facility support systems. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient customer service to all facility department Team Member and vendors. Performs painting, and/or carpentry, repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises. Must know equipment well enough to conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work. Evaluates requests for repairs. Acts as liaison with outside contractors and is able to converse with service vendors on needed repairs. This position does not perform any electrical work that would require a licensed electrician (i.e., ballast work or wiring). Duties and Responsibilities: * Conduct periodic inspections of equipment to determine maintenance work required. * Perform repair of manufacturing production machinery and facility support systems. * Utilize service manuals to troubleshoot, repair and for preventive maintenance of equipment and vendor knowledge to resolve facility issues and order parts as needed. * Utilize welding and fabrication knowledge to direct repairs or redesign of production processes and equipment repair work orders. * Operate all equipment in a safe and proper manner. * Attend all applicable trainings, and be able to use or be certified in use of appropriate equipment (including forklifts, snow blowers, pallet jacks, etc.) needed for facility. * Resolve production equipment downtime issues with fellow Equipment Maintenance Team Members and facility leadership in a timely manner. * Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with production personnel and supervisors to understand and resolve maintenance issues. Communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow Team Members and Team Leaders on daily production issues, work orders and project completions at the beginning and end of each shift. * Train new and existing Equipment Maintenance Team Members on procedures where a particular knowledge or expertise is required. * Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices. * Report all life safety and fire hazards for correction, along with any other violations of company policy, and report all accidents and injuries to Store Leadership immediately. * Properly and accurately record time using time clock at the beginning and end of each shift and for unpaid meal breaks during shift. * Responsible for proper dress code, including non-slip shoes during each work shift. * Perform other duties as assigned by Equipment Maintenance Team Leadership. Physical Requirements: * Must be 18 years or older and work a maximum of 8-10 hours per day. * Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. * Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 70 pounds unassisted. * Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted. * Ability to perform job by repetitive use of right and left hands for simple grasping, power grasping, pushing and pulling and fine manipulation. * While exact time may vary for each task, constant use may be anywhere from one to six hours during a work shift. * Must be able to consistently bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat during the course of a work shift. * Must be able to lift and carry loads up to 25 pounds regularly from 1 to over 100 feet and 26-75 pounds the same distances intermittently during the course of the work shift. * Ability to visually examine building for damage or wear and to use hand and small power tools to fix problems encountered. * Effectively communicate with other Team Members and leadership. * Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a baler, dumpster, slicers, mixers, ovens, knives and all related equipment. Work Environment Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (walk-in cooler, freezer and oven) May be exposed to dairy, flour, gluten, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat via inhalant or food handling. May be exposed to cleaning or other commercial chemicals, cooking oils, grease, dust and other food and cooking related substances. Work in a moderately noisy environment. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete.
