Job Summary

The Store Supervisor plays an integral part in the success of the team and the store. This position performs in an efficient and productive manner on a daily basis - providing exceptional customer service and ensuring Lidl US has the highest quality of goods. The Store Supervisor is cross-trained in every aspect of store operations, from managing a team of associates, ordering products, and working the register to stocking the shelves and opening and closing the store. The Store Supervisor is part of a fast-paced team where juggling responsibilities is a must. This role reports to the Store Manager.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure excellent customer service by meeting customer needs

  • Provide clear and direct communication to both customers and colleagues

  • Motivate employees and create a results-focused working environment

  • Ensure that all store spaces are clean, well maintained, and properly merchandised

  • Ensure product availability through the ordering of all product areas within the store

  • Ensure a high level of productivity by maintaining effective and efficient work practices

  • Ensure that freshness, cleanliness, and quality control standards are met

  • Unpack, stock, and merchandise as needed

  • Facilitate the opening and closing of the store

  • Receive deliveries and oversee warehouse organization

  • Operate the cash register while following all cash handling procedures

  • Perform daily cash office operational functions

  • Monitor loss prevention efforts within the store

  • Implement store tasks as delegated by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

  • Be knowledgeable about the product assortment

  • All other duties and responsibilities as required

Required

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in any capacity

  • Basic reading comprehension level and ability to count and measure accurately to perform in store functions such as inventory, cash management, ordering, etc.

  • Ability to follow and implement operational guidelines and safety requirements

  • Ability to comprehend and implement store processes with your team

  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and in a friendly manner when dealing with customers, team members, and vendors

  • Ability to lead, delegate, and assign tasks effectively

  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems in alignment with company objectives

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Must have obtained a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Ability to work in a fast paced working environment with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly

  • Ability to work in situations that involve prolonged standing, walking, squatting and/or bending

  • Ability to work in various conditions, such as outdoor weather conditions or freezers

  • Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) in excess of 50 lbs frequently

  • Must be able to handle all Lidl products, to include but not limited to, meat, poultry, alcohol products, and food products with known allergens, such as nuts

  • Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists frequently

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) frequently
