Job Summary

The Store Supervisor is responsible for leading and executing daily tasks in the stores including the checkout process, bakery, packing out goods, cleaning tasks etc. .

Essential Functions

  • Communicate directly with customers and fulfill customer needs like processing customer returns or retrieving requested products

  • Monitor the checkout process within stores including self-checkout terminals

  • Perform cleaning tasks on the salesfloor, warehouse, and restrooms

  • Bake goods and maintain presentation of bakery products within our bakery

  • Work in the Produce department by ensuring proper presentation, performing freshness checks, and maintaining a clean area

  • Maintain the organization, presentation, freshness, and cleanliness in the Chiller, Freezer, and Non-Food

  • Assist store management with various tasks

When Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager are not present:

  • Responsible for goods-in and goods-out processing

  • Responsible for supervising and managing store staff

  • Responsible for schedules

  • Responsible for opening and closing the store

  • Responsible for ordering

  • Supervise and direct a team of one or more employees

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language, including the ability to speak, read, and understand English

  • Knowledge of store processes and supervision of a store team

  • Excellent communication skills with customers and employees

  • Well-developed team leading skills

  • Ability to satisfy customer needs in a friendly and efficient way

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 - 2 years of experience

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly

  • Ability to work in situations that involve prolonged standing, walking, squatting and/or bending and twisting all of the time

  • Ability to work in various conditions in temperatures around or below freezing, such as outdoor weather conditions or freezers

  • Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) in excess of 50 lbs. and reach above head to heights greater than 10 inches frequently in accordance with safety regulations

  • Must be able to handle all Lidl products, to include but not limited to, meat, poultry, alcohol products, and food products with known allergens, such as nuts

  • Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists

  • Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

  • Ability to handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner

  • Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between stores and regional distribution centers less than 25% of the time within a day

  • This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time

  • Anticipated travel will be by car and/or train

Areas of focus will include stocking to ensure full-shelf conditions, neatly-merchandising displays and shelves, building display point-of-sale in all areas of the store, properly-rotating product on the shelf, and creating and hanging accurate price tags / point-of-sale in all departments. A major objective of this role is to establish and maintain clear and effective communication with key store individuals and fellow Mondelēz team members, while providing outstanding customer service. This role will be responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate merchandising service schedule, which includes driving to multiple customer stores throughout the shift.
