The Store Sales Manager is responsible for:

  • The leadership of the store team to reach all goals and initiatives set for the retail store.

  • Expected to lead by example and live the spirit of AVAIL Vapor in all interactions: external and internal.

Essential Functions

Sales and Leadership:

  • Lead by example.

  • Exceed all company sales targets and consistent growth in your personal sales.

  • Drive your Store Team to create customer engagement that produces memorable supportive experiences with every customer interaction, maximizing every interaction.

  • Coach, develop and hold store team accountable for all aspects of SUCCESS in selling behaviors.

  • Engage in the ongoing training and development of your people with a commitment to constant improvement which will drive your Store to consistently exceed goals and achieve all KPIs.

  • Set up appropriate coverage to maximize the return on your labor investment (Sales Per Hour or SPH).

  • Recruit, hire train and develop the highest caliber retail Assistant Sales Managers (ASM's), and Sales Associates

  • (SA's) within your market.

  • Maintain a culture of accountability within your Store that acknowledges the need for everyone on your Store Team to grow their revenue and acquire new customers.

  • Know and abide by everything in our AVAIL Vapor Employee Handbook and Operations Manual, which includes but is not limited to: timeliness, dress code, and personal conduct.

  • Become the authority on all retail AVAIL Vapor policies and procedures and ensure that your Store Team members are conducting themselves accordingly.

  • Stay informed on your competition, their selection, their pricing, their promotions and the level of service they provide.

  • Stay informed on the features and benefits of current devices and "juices". Be an authority.

  • Initiate and execute outside Store activities, commonly referred to as "Grass Roots Marketing" to increase traffic and sales at your Store location.

  • Ensure inventory counts are completed as prescribed by AVAIL Vapor.

  • Ensure visual presentation standards adherence.

  • In partnership with Human Resources: (a) ensures that appropriate action is taken to correct poor performance, including but not limited to: active coaching and counseling; effective writing and delivery of performance warnings; timely delivery of performance reviews; termination of employment. (b) investigates Associates' complaints and reports of policy/procedure violations. Conduct interviews, collects statements, and, with HR (when needed), determines and implements appropriate course of action.

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Operational and Procedural:

  • Monthly
  • Conduct monthly Store Sales Meetings to kick off each month covering prior month's performance and
  • ensuring the team is in alignment on AVAIL Vapor goals/ initiatives for the month.

  • Conduct Weekly Business Touch-bases with all Store Team Members

  • Create Schedules in Proliant 2 weeks in advance. Once in play schedules are not changed without DSM approval.\

  • Go through Communications Binder every day to insure strong informational flow to all store team members.

  • Weekly

  • On Mondays go over the previous week reporting with DSM to identify opportunities and gaps in your Store to put in place Action Plans for improvement/growth.

  • Ensure Store is always audit compliant.
  • Daily
  • Ensure nightly deposits are made and DSR's sent to corporate.
  • Ongoing
  • Conduct candidate interviews as necessary to ensure a pipeline of candidates are maintained.
  • Complete 90 day New Hire and Annual employee evaluations on time.

Store Environment:

  • Ensure your Store is clean, well lit, dust/dirt free and prepared to "WOW" customers.

  • Ensure all testers are fully functioning.

  • Ensure that your Store is set to Plan-o-gram and visual standards.

  • Ensure back of house (offices, store rooms, bathrooms, etc.) are as clean and well-kept as your sales floor.

  • Ensure proper marketing materials are displayed.

  • Maintains a daily focus on safe work practices.

TIME ALLOCATION OF POSITION

Sales generation Personal/Team/Grass Roots 65%

Coaching/Counseling/Educating Store Team 15%

Recruiting top talent ASMs and SAs 5 %

Store operations functions 15%

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • At least three years of hands-on, proven retail management experience.

This position requires the frequent and routine exercise of discretion, independent judgment, local marketing/promotional initiative, inventory control, employee management, and general oversight/maintenance of the retail location.
