Wax + Wine is looking for a Store Manager in our gorgeous Center City Philadelphia studio!

The Store Manager is the face of the organization and has a main priority to make sure the Store operates effectively and that we keep our customers and staff always satisfied. We are looking for a talented, creative professional who has a passion for creating unique and memorable 5-star experiences for all guests.

Wax + Wine began as a dream for the father-son team, Alan and Jordan Beletz, who wanted to create a unique opportunity for people to connect with one another through creativity and conversation. Jordan and his team have created a stunning studio space in downtown Philadelphia where guests can gather with friends and create a beautiful product of their own while learning the artisan craft of candle making.

At Wax + Wine, we want to create experiences that Lighten Up Life! Whether it be through loose instruction reservations or while hosting a private event, we strive to help guests escape from the routine of the week and unlock their creativity!

This individual will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday up to 25-hours per week.

What you will do!

Staff Management:

You understand that the people create our 5-star experiences. You will deliver quality experiences through the following:
  • Attract Hire, train, and onboard Top Talent
  • Continuously develop and improve all staff performance
  • Ensure the entire team has all the necessary tools and support to be successful
  • Ensure the team understands our operating procedures and respond quickly when there is uncertainty
  • Coordinate daily customer service operations and staff schedules
  • You ensure clear communication to the Store team on business performance, company culture and training focuses through daily Behind the Seams Meetings and participating in weekly Leadership Meetings
  • Finally, you are a player-coach, you inspire loyalty and performance through your own work towards a 5-star experience
Operations Management:
  • You ensure Store Operations and Best Practices are followed in your department and throughout the store.
  • Operate store systems and processes
  • You are responsible for supporting the Sales goals in your store by setting a plan to deliver 5-star experiences
  • Organize incoming deliveries

  • High School graduate or equivalent; Associates or bachelors degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail management or comparable experience
  • 1-year of management experience in a retail or creative/hospitality setting
  • Comfortable with technology that is commonly used in a retail environment, Point of Sale, MS Office products, and scheduling platforms
  • Weekend, nighttime, and holiday availability

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to correctly and safely lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items for a short distance
  • Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool

Responsibilities: The Store Manager will support the Store Director in leading, developing and supporting the sales, operations and security team members to meet and/or exceed sales plans and elevate the Tiffany store experience. S/he will assume oversight for the store when the Director is not present. Sales: Deepen the relationship with our clients to achieve sales plan and drive lifetime loyalty and spend. Manage and motivate the team to consistently achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual store sales plan. Drive client development activities among individual team members to cultivate new and existing clients. Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role on the sales floor and managing client relationships personally. Drive business through key product pillars. Lead, model and coach based on TEI (Voice of Client Survey) feedback and elevate the Tiffany Experience Index by keeping the survey questions in mind. Act as Guest Experience management presence on the sales floor, coaching the team on the Power of Blue selling ceremony and ensuring Tiffany client experience expectations are being delivered at all times. Optimize hospitality and store amenities to create unique experiences. Take action on TEI performance and client feedback to improve customer service. Operational Excellence: Ensure exceptional operational support to drive sales and service. Manage efficient back of house and ensure consistency with established operational procedures. Identify and execute efficiencies and best practices. Ensure compliance with all internal control procedures. Partner with Market Operations Manager to reallocate resources to sales and clienteling through supporting key pillars. Talent: Elevate and hire talent to ensure a winning team and create a best in class service & selling organization. Partner with the Director to develop and execute a Talent Action Plan for each employee. Continuously train, coach, and provide qualitative feedback, utilizing reward and recognition as well as performance management process to improve team engagement and performance. Network and recruit to build a pipeline of diverse, multi-lingual, highly skilled talent. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: * Minimum of 3 years of retail or luxury retail store management experience or relevant customer related experience (e.g., hospitality). * Proven track record in sales generation, managing the achievement of sales results. * Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays. * Proven ability to develop new opportunities and maintain client relationships while ensuring brand recognition and penetration in market. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Power Point, Client tracking systems and Point of Sales (POS) system. * Flexibility to work in various roles based on business needs (i.e., on the sales floor, operations, etc.). * Must have authorization to work in the United States or in the country where the position is based.
