JOB SUMMARY

To recruit, hire, train and manage store personnel to achieve store sales plan, control expenses,

and to protect company assets while pursing growth opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Meet and exceed personal and store sales goal and standards of performance.

• Provide a fun, full service experience to all customers.

• Recruit, interview, and hire high caliber employees with in store needs.

• Train and develop a successful sales team.

• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to all employees.

• Conduct Monthly Performance Reviews

• Conduct Monthly Store Meetings

• Recognize talented staff and develop them for growth within the company.

• Supervise and manage all aspects of daily store operations.

• Supervise and manage all aspects of Loss Prevention practices.

• Plan weekly staffing schedules in compliance with schedules policy.

• Resolve customer issues effectively.

• Understand the Journeys culture and demonstrate it to the team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Prior management experience in retail environment preferred.

• 1-2 years retail sales experience.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Desire to succeed in fast paced retail environment.

• Willingness to learn.

• Ability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work 45 hours per week.

• Ability to work night and weekend shifts.

• Completed all training programs leading up to Manager in Training position.

• Stand for long periods of time

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: * Demonstrates Total Customer Service Standards and leads by example. * Participates in managing overall store operations to meet and exceed sales, operational, and liquidation goals, and store and department standards. * Follows all company policies and procedures, including Loss Prevention guidelines to deter theft. * Assists in conflict resolution, delegates tasks as needed, coordinates meals/breaks, and assists in administration of progressive discipline, schedules, timecard edits, and reports. * Supervises and ensures compliance of all cash handling procedures; provides overrides, performs safe and till counts, and reconciles cash settlements. * Trains and develops associates for growth. Requirements: * Customer focused, excellent communication and listening skills, ability to learn and execute the concept. * Excellent leadership, sales, and customer service skills. * Ability to successfully complete Key Carrier Certification exam within 60 days of hire and the General Manager Certification exam within 18 months of hire. * Prolonged periods of standing and walking, must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and up to 10 pounds continuously. * Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays. * Bachelor's degree or prior related management experience preferred. * Three years of retail/customer service experience required. * Must be at least 21 years of age.
