Position Title: Store Manager

  • SUMMARY: The Store Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the Global Treasurz Store. The Store Manager is responsible for the general operation and success of Global Treasurz, including receiving and processing donations, displaying merchandise, managing and directing the sales performance of the store. The Store Manager must supervise Individuals and other staff working in the store; model target skills and related behaviors, and uphold healthy boundaries in the working relationship. The Store Manager will direct the activities of the Global Treasurz Store to ensure maximum revenues, effectiveness and profitability, while ensuring customer satisfaction. The Store Manager will develop, train, and lead the retail team in a person-centered environment. The Store Manager must meet the budget and performance goals provided to you. The Store Manager will be responsible for all daily activities in the store.

In addition to Store Manager duties, this individual will be responsible for successfully locating a building in Pueblo at a reasonable monthly rent plus utilities. The Store Manager will work closely with the agency's Chief Executive Officer on a variable timeline to locate a facility in Pueblo. During that time, the Store Manager will utilize an agency vehicle to commute to Pueblo to work with citizens, realtors, and economic development staff to locate a building to start a Global Treasurz operation in Pueblo.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES and MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the store and related activities.

  • Consistently and effectively provide supervision, training, direction, motivation, and support to staff and Individuals in service.

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining store organization with job responsibilities/assignments.

  • Responsible for the positive image of the store and promoting its purpose in the community, including, but not limited to, store appeal, window displays, end caps, shelving, overall store presentation, overall general cleanliness, etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring that thrift is efficiently and effectively sorted and stock consistently rotated.

  • Pass the Medication Administration test with no more than two attempts and administer medication to clients according to physician orders and using appropriate administration techniques as outlined in the Medication Administration course, if needed.

  • Must be able to perform Lifting and Transferring techniques as trained and pass performance testing. The employee may occasionally lift and/or push and pull up to 50 lbs. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement.

  • Driving of agency vehicles as necessary for transportation of clients and agency business as assigned.

  • Must, with or without reasonable accommodation,

  • Able to regularly sit, walk, stand, climb up and down stairs, physically restrain clients pursuant to training (when necessary) and sit at a computer for long periods of time and repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times (typing, data entry).

  • Communicate through speech with individuals in service and public in both quiet and noisy environments.

  • Operate a personal computer and related software.

  • Tolerate various levels of stress and meet deadlines with severe time constraints.

  • Demonstrate specific vision abilities which include close, distance, and depth perception and able to read handwritten or typed material, and able to adjust focus.

  • Work and concentrate in both noisy and quiet environments.

  • Squat, stoop, kneel, and reach above the head. Forward motion will occasionally be required.

  • Work inside the building a majority of the time.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for cash-handling processes and procedures.

  • Operate a cash register, reconcile cash with sales receipts, keep record of financial transactions, schedule employees, reporting, cash deposits, etc.

  • Supervise individuals and staff on shift.

  • Maintain and follow Inspiration Field and Global Treasurz policies and procedures at all times.

  • Responsible for following local, state and federal requirements related to retail sales.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times while minimizing overtime in accordance with salary budget.

  • Responsible for researching and knowing about and implementing any product recalls or other items that are not allowed for sale.

  • Responsible for coordinating and managing staff and volunteers.

  • Develop, oversee, and actively promote customer service to strengthen customer relationships.

  • Oversee and actively participate in accepting, sorting and pricing of items for resale.

  • Actively recruit donations and dispose of unsold items.

  • Work with eBay Professional to identify items to be sold online.

  • Oversee and develop strong, customer-friendly merchandise displays.

  • Responsible for creating and implementing advertising, marketing and sales promotion campaigns to increase sales by working with Community Relations Director.

  • Establish, oversee, and implement inventory control procedures.

  • Maintain all store data and compile reports as required by agency, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

  • Develop community-wide promotions and relationships to strengthen the store's presence in Southeastern Colorado.

  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports and analyze information and identify trends to improve or maintain successful store performance.

  • Provide shift sales trend analysis by cashier.

  • Be responsible for updating and maintaining the store's Web page and social media accounts and activity.

  • Safeguard all agency funds and property.

  • Participate in staff training activities and staff meetings, as outlined in the agency's staff development curriculum.

  • Work flexible schedules or within various environments as agency and supervisor deems necessary. Staff attendance and promptness to assigned shifts is essential. The responsibilities of this position may require staff to be able to work irregular, extended, and/or be available for on-call work hours, evenings, nights, weekend, holidays, etc.

  • Follow agency procedures when purchasing items on behalf of the agency.

  • Follow agency policies and procedures in carrying out duties.

  • Advise supervisor and/or the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of concerns and problems that arise within the agency.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Community Supports Director, CEO, and/or designee.

  • Other reasonable duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary for success. An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum: This position requires a minimum of one year (30 credit hours) of college level courses at an accredited Junior College, Community College, 4-year College or 4-year University AND three years of demonstrated retail management experience or two years of demonstrated thrift store management experience. The individual must also have two years of demonstrated supervisory experience. The individual must have experience with merchandise promotion, inventory control, and sales strategies. Experience in managing staff in a retail environment. Computer knowledge and experience with word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs. Must be at least 18 years of age. Persons hired into this position must be licensed drivers and have reliable transportation. If current license is from out-of-state, a valid Colorado Driver's License is required within ten days of hire. Background check, drug and alcohol check, reference check, and motor vehicle checks must be passed. Current motor vehicle insurance is required. Driving is an essential job duty.

Preferred: One year of experience working with donated goods. Must be familiar with Pueblo real estate and retail markets.

Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Store Manager is responsible for direct supervision of assigned store staff with responsibility for interviewing, hiring, discipline, performance reviews, etc. The Store Manager will train and manage staff and supervise/coordinate all related store activities and thrift handling. The Community Supports Director provides supervision of this position. In general, this position requires that the individual work independently approximately 95% of the time. In addition, the Store Manager will work closely with the CEO regarding general store issues and in securing a store location in Pueblo, Colorado.

Able to work with others, with system issues, and able to work within designated time frames. Patience in dealing with staff, individuals in service, and parents. Able to develop effective working relationships with staff, individuals in service, and the community. Good communication skills and able to work with others as a team is a must. Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Able to perform duties in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
