This position is an exempt position and salary is negotiable.

Position Summary: As a Manager-in-Training you will receive on-the-job training to prepare to become a Retail Store Manager of a Goodwill Retail Store. In this role you will receive training in all aspects within the stores, become well versed in policies and procedures, while gaining the knowledge and experience necessary to successfully operate a store. Training will include, but is not limited to, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, counseling, performance reviews, team building, managing production output, maintaining a clean/ organized store, and providing outstanding customer service. The length of time necessary to complete the training may vary based on the experience and learning aptitude but should not take longer than one year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to the attendance and punctuality policies of Goodwill.

  • Interviews, hires, trains, schedules and supervises store employees.

  • Exhibits excellent customer service skills.

  • Achieves expected sales and net revenue results.

  • Production goals are met for all departments on a daily basis.

  • Operating expenses are kept within budgeted expectations.

  • Implements all organizational initiatives within the time frame expected.

  • Ensures the actions of everyone on the team are consistent with GINM's policies, procedures, goals and mission.

  • Completes required performance reviews, delivers disciplinary actions when needed, and provides the store team with motivation at all times.

  • Processes required paperwork accurately, in a timely manner, and according to procedures.

  • Maintains proper security of all company assets including donations, merchandise, and equipment.

  • Is in compliance with all practices, policies and procedures. Communicates any maintenance issues in a timely manner.

  • Travel to various Goodwill store locations to assist with training, assist with projects, and at times run the store while the assigned store manager is on leave.

  • Knowledge, understanding and compliance with Safety policies and procedures.

  • Follows all loss prevention guidelines and security measures.

  • Maintains a positive, team-oriented relationship with all staff and departments.

  • Attends meetings and training sessions as required.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: In conjunction with the store manager, directly supervises all store employees at the assigned location. Carries out supervisory responsibilities as outlined in our policies and procedures and follows all applicable laws.

  • Knowledge of organizational practices, policies and procedures and compliance with the same.

  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee

  • is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; see, talk

  • and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and walk and may be required to stand for

  • eight or more hours. The Employee will generally perform work indoors in a retail setting where

  • the employee will have occasional contact with the public. The employee is occasionally required

  • to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 50lbs and may occasionally be exposed to

  • outside weather conditions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and walk and may be required to stand for

eight or more hours. The Employee will generally perform work indoors in a retail setting where the employee will have occasional contact with the public. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 50lbs and may occasionally be exposed to

outside weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or abilities required for the position. Individuals must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

  • High School Diploma/GED, College Degree preferred.

  • Two years retail work experience with a minimum of 2 years at supervisory level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

  • Must have a valid NM driver's license, liability insurance, have a clean driving record and be insurable under the agency's insurance carrier.
