As a Store Loss Prevention Associate, you're responsible for performing asset protection activities in stores, as outlined in our Loss Prevention, Shortage Control and Safety programs, while serving as a security officer to maintain a safe environment for our customers and associates. Loss Prevention Associates must monitor the store at all times to ensure physical protection and safety standards for the store's merchandise, physical structure, customers and associates are maintained. You are a key team member in our mission to provide customers with a world-class shopping experience by allowing shoppers to enjoy a safe and secure environment, while ensuring the physical safety of merchandise in order to help drive successful results for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the store and staff designated posts within Burlington Stores wearing the Burlington Loss Prevention Uniform to create a visible security presence to customers and associates.

  • Identify report and resolve matters in the area of safety, inventory shortage, cash handling and theft, and for providing customer service as per company standards.

  • Conduct shortage control, loss prevention and safety inspections and audits, provide accurate documentation of results and communicate all potential or existing hazards to key holder on duty.

  • Monitor physical security protection standards and access control of building.

  • Utilize stores CCTV, alarm and exception reporting systems, (Sherlock) as directed.

  • Represent Burlington in court proceedings when required, including post-employment if necessary.

  • Execute Burlington Loss Prevention external and internal theft investigations per SOP.

Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule; including nights, weekends and holidays as required. Candidates must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, as well as occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. Prior experience as a security guard, loss prevention officer or retail security associate is preferred.

We are currently recruiting for a Regional Loss Prevention Manager – DC's located in Cleveland, OH. What will you be doing? Under the direction of the Director – DC Artistree LP Safety, this position is responsible for protecting company assets and ensuring a safe environment for our team members. Further responsibilities include the recruiting, training and development of Loss Prevention teams within the assigned Distribution Centers. General oversight responsibility for all distribution center activities relating to loss prevention concerns such as physical security to include C-TPAT compliance, regulatory compliance auditing, total quality accuracy auditing (TQ), shrink, and loss investigations. How will you do it? Operations Security/ Safety – 30% * Identify sources for and obtain reliable and accurate data regarding vendors, factories, items, orders, shipments, testing, inspections, audit and top customer data. This will include a variety of sources such as Michaels' MiPCS, RMS, SPEDY, PLM BV OneSource, SGS DataManager, Intertek's DataLink, Darice's M3 and PLM systems and possibly other systems. * Reviews and implements physical security standards, such as access control, burglary alarms, key controls and trailer yards. Conducts operational reviews and tests of procedures to ensure compliance. * Own execution of safety programs and emergency response procedures to reduce and mitigate workers compensation claims and cost. Identify best practices and leads continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risk, raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices. Ensures compliance to all OSHA and NFPA codes. Training/Development – 20% * Assist in the recruiting hiring and training of LPA Team Members. * Develop and administer Individual Development Objectives, quarterly check-ins and provide feedback for annual review process for Loss Prevention Associates. * Participate in and support the on-boarding process for all new hires within area of responsibility. Process Improvement / Shortage Reduction Strategies Program – 30% * Serve as the primary point person for all distribution center loss prevention issues in partnership with local established LPOC. * Implement programs designed to both reduce shrink and protect company assets from loss due to internal, external or vendor theft and fraud. * Use discretion and independent judgment to manage all distribution center loss prevention issues as the primary point person. * Lead the implementation of all loss prevention initiatives as directed by the Director – DC Artistree LP Safety; support the roll out of loss prevention strategies as well as budgetary compliance. Manage cross-functional initiatives to impact loss prevention metrics and results. Support the distribution center Business Leader (GM). * Work with Distribution Center Operations personnel to identify inventory shortage opportunities and recommend solutions; determine the assignment of appropriate Loss Prevention resources (i.e. associates, technology, etc.) to address shortage reduction opportunities. * Maintain focus on e-Commerce Loss Prevention initiatives and maintain a full understanding of loss prevention principles in the context of DC to e-Commerce shipments or transactions. Loss Prevention – 20% * Assist the budgetary process by providing monthly reporting of actual vs. budget in relationship to expenses including but not limited to travel, payroll, alarms/systems, investigation tools, other security expenses. * Own development and resolution of investigations through critical partnerships in both internally and externally to mitigate loss to the company. * Provide communication, guidance and timely resolution on investigations and matters with highly sensitive team member concerns, or customer and public relations implications. * Ensure investigative case files and supporting documentation is maintained in a standardized manner in line with Michaels Stores, Inc. procedures. * Assist with the development of the Supply Chain Investigations strategy and long term goals, by identifying opportunities and providing solutions for improvement. * Create and maintain partnerships with key external business partners including 3rd party Transportation, Supply Chain Task Forces, and other retailers to assist in ORC related loss investigations.
