Franchisees typically rely on Sales Associates to provide outstanding service, maintain a clean, customer friendly environment, stock and merchandise products, and operate the register. Franchisees expect store employees to demonstrate reliability, honesty, and greet customers with a smile.

What might you do?

Physical Requirements

While physical requirements for store employees may change depending on your franchisee, the position typically requires constant standing, bending, reaching, frequent lifting of 1-5 lbs, and occasional lifting of up to 40 -50 lbs.

VIEW JOBS 1/20/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-19T00:00 The Employee Relations Manager (ERM) provides advice and guidance and drives the application of sound strategies to resolve difficult and/or sensitive workplace matters. The ERM works in consultation with Principal Employee Relations Managers, as well as the Employment Law Group to promote the consistent application of HR policies and procedures and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations. The ERM also collaborates with other HR functional areas to develop and implement integrated Employee Relations strategies that are consistent with business goals and objectives. Other responsibilities include supporting internal investigations in response to employment-related complaints; providing guidance on effective performance management strategies and corrective action; recommending and implementing process improvements, analyzing and interpreting ER-related data and information and making recommendation to promote effective workplace practices; recommending and assisting in the development of management training; and participating in departmental and/or cross-functional special project teams. The ERM partners closely with the Employment Law Group, Health Care Compliance Office, Security, HR managers, other members of the ER team, and HR COE's to provide guidance to the business leaders within the client organization. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Act as the point of contact for specific employee relations matters across the organization, including questions of policy and performance management concerns * When needed, support the investigation of employee complaints, including, but not limited to those involving allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment and/or hostile work environment. * In consultation with the Legal Department, work with clients to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws and serve as a company resource for effective risk mitigation strategies * Identify opportunities to instill sound ER practices that are in alignment with company goals and objectives * Monitor and analyze ER data, and recommend organization-wide and/or client specific interventions to address identified trends * At the request and under the direction of Legal, may support or conduct ER investigations, respond to gCom concerns, provide litigation support or participate in depositions * Participate in the establishment of new and/or refinement of existing HR policies, practices and standards * Work on specialized projects as needed This position is not eligible for relocation. HR QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * 7+ years of progressively responsible HR and/or business experience, which includes at least 4 years' experience working on complex employee relations issues. * Proven track record in consistently meeting or exceeding identified annual work goals, including significant contribution to strategic goals and/or policies, programs, practices of the organization. * Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations, as well as the ability to diagnose and develop appropriate solutions to complex cross-organization and/or cross-Company issues. * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES: Broad expert level technical knowledge and expertise in Employee Relations: * Ability to apply technical expertise to resolve highly complex issues providing unique solutions aligned with business needs * Expertise in risk assessment as well as a strong foundation in the application of employment law in business situations * Ability to read, analyze and interpret relevant business and statistical data * Excellent written and oral communication skills, including facilitation, presentation and negotiations skills * Demonstrated consultation, coaching and influencing skills at all levels: * Strong analytical ability * High level issue resolution skills with ability to negotiate and resolve complex matters, putting specific problems in the context of the larger system * Demonstrated conflict resolution skills * Managerial courage * Demonstrated organizational, planning and consultative skills; manages and prioritizes multiple complex issues, even when resource constrained * Exercises excellent judgement in determining objectives and approaches to assignments * Develops solutions to complex problems requiring regular use of ingenuity and innovation * Skilled collaborator, who can effectively partner with other members of the HR team, internal and external Legal Counsel, Security and Healthcare Compliance professionals in managing ER cases Genentech South San Francisco CA
