Outline of Job Duties:

  • Take ownership of the plumbing systems in K-VA-T facilities and become a proactive partner of the stores in his/her assigned facilities.

  • Conduct periodic checks and perform preventive maintenance on plumbing and water heating systems so that critical failures do not occur.

  • Diagnose deficiencies and maintain all aspects of the plumbing systems throughout the facilities.

  • Install new and remove old water heaters, sinks, faucets toilets, urinals, and other plumbing fixtures and associated systems as needed for remodels and upgrades.

  • Conceive and help develop procedures and strategies that can be adopted companywide for improved performance, reduced down time and cost reduction.

  • Maintain all records necessary for government and company purposes.

  • Work on a 24-hour on call basis, as needed. (The goal is to develop a maintenance program that allows for a normal 40 hour work week).

  • Assist other in-house maintenance technicians with development of best practices.

  • Refurbish plumbing equipment/systems as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in plumbing systems installation and maintenance.

  • Experience with supermarket systems (natural/LP gas equipment, refrigeration equipment, processing equipment and pumping systems, etc.) is a plus.

  • Valid U.S. driver's license.

  • U.S. citizen or valid work permit.

  • Must pass physical exam and drug screen.

Outline of Job Duties: * Complete accountability for the proper operation of kitchen and food processing equipment systems, as well as being a proactive partner of the stores in assigned area to insure that all systems are in top operating condition at all times. * Conduct periodic checks and perform preventive maintenance on food equipment systems so that critical failures do not occur. * Diagnose and maintain all mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control aspects of the food equipment systems. * Install new and remove old equipment as needed for remodel and upgrades. * Envision and assist in developing procedures and strategies that can be adopted company-wide for improved performance, reduced down time and cost reduction. * Maintain all records necessary for government and company purposes. * Work on a 24-hour on call basis, as needed. * Assist other in-house maintenance technicians with diagnostic development. * Refurbish food equipment systems as directed. * Responsible for attending on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties * Ensure all aspects of company policy and procedures in regards to good business and department practices are followed. Qualifications: * Minimum of 5 years' experience in food equipment systems maintenance. * Valid, State issued driver's license. * Must pass physical exam and drug screen * Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis ? ? Preferred but not required: * Experience with Hobart brand food equipment. * Valid Type 1 EPA refrigerant certification. * Experience with single refrigeration compressor systems (retarders, display cases, blast chillers, etc.).
