CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

Dollar Tree is the nation's largest retailer by store count, and we are searching for an energetic, innovative and self-directing Construction Project Manager with passion for ensuring quality and timeliness throughout the construction process.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and attention to detail as well as excellent oral and written communications. They will work closely with Dollar Tree partners and outside vendors to effectively manage all facets of their assigned projects.
Manage the construction process for new, relocated and expanded stores.
Ensure Dollar Tree quality and financial standards are met by monitoring store construction progress and costs, evaluating quality and taking necessary action to keep projects on track and within defined budgets.
Visit store project sites to confirm LL construction progress and schedule store construction effectively.
Communicate with landlords and internal Dollar Tree partners regarding timeliness of turnover and openings of upcoming store projects.
Ensure all appropriate parties are kept up to date with status of projects at all times.
Maintain and input all construction key dates in the SLM program.
Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously ranging in cost from $100,000 - $500,000.
Recommend selection of general contractors, review bids and partner with Director of Store Construction to award contract.
Effectively manage all facets of the Construction Contract including project award, scheduling, change order process and project close out on all bid and assigned projects.
Ensure completion of store punch list items and follow up on all warranty items in a timely manner.
Maintain and input all construction key dates and ensure all construction documents are uploaded into the SLM program for project close out.
Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Construction.
5 years of progressive construction project management experience in the retail industry
Ability to travel approximately 25% - 50% of work time
Computer literate in MS Office Suite
Technical training and/or experience in the areas of building code, estimating, mechanical, electrical and/or structural disciplines
College degree in a construction related field
Familiarity with store fixturing, planning, operations and/or merchandising
