The U-Haul Storage Opertions and Property Management Financial Analysis is tasked with the following responsibilities:
Perform detailed valuation analysis on all potential acquisitions prior to their presentation at the AMERCO Real Estate monthly board meeting.
Complete financial and operational reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and various other standardized, as well as ad hoc analyses, for our internal customers including, but not limited to: Sustainability, Storage, Budgets and Planning, and AMERCO Real Estate Company.
Analyze marketing data, evaluate historical data and trends.
Obtain and analyze data regarding income and expenses.
Assist in point of sale development yield management.
Every U-Haul Financial Analysis team member is responsible for maintaining a continual improvement process mindset, which means that each team member is expected to actively seek out opportunities to improve current processes in terms of their effectiveness, efficiency, and flexibility as well as to develop new processes after a specific need has been identified.
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of data and data structures within the database and will be responsible for aggregating and providing this data to other Financial Analysis team members via custom queries and views within SQL Server. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will create data extracts for use in other applications including analysis tools and ad hoc data/analysis requests. The Financial Analyst will also be responsible for the completion of projects as assigned. These projects will require advanced proficiency in general finance theory (see 'Knowledge required' section) as well as a working knowledge of statistical and/or other quantitative methods.
This position reports to the VP Storage Operation and Property Management, and will have direct visibility to AMERCO's Chief Executive Officer.
Minimum education and/or experience
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field and experience in financial planning and analysis in the public or private sectors.
Specialized training, certifications, and/or other special requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess:
Expert proficiency using SQL Server and SAP
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience performing analysis using R, Python, and/or VBA [strongly preferred]
