Profile Summary:

Voya Financial is looking to hire a Stop Loss Support Specialist. This role will review complex claims and/or related situations, makes decisions that may require deviating from normal guidelines and must use discretion and critical thinking in decision-making.

Profile Description:

  • Review complex claims and/or situations and make informed decisions that may require judgment by providing directions on excess risk claims.

  • Respond to internal and external claim or reporting inquiries from managers, brokers, general agents and administrators.

  • Responsible for providing direction, developing, training, and mentoring less experienced claims staff, including completing audits and providing feedback.

  • Manage claim suspense accounts that will ensure accurate claim processing, appropriate financial reporting, and controls.

  • Manage mid-policy period and year end audit.

  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvement.

  • Participate and/or facilitate various department and/or company project and special initiatives

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience [Minimum 5-7 years claims or insurance experience]

  • Knowledge of industry related claim systems and practices

  • Must be proficient in MS Excel (macros, pivots and formulas)

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
