Job Description

Summary/General Job Description:

Conducts activities associated with proper receipt, handling, usage, storage, and dispensing of inventory materials. This includes raw materials and intermediates. Maintains accuracy of inventory through development and conformance to tracking procedures and strict adherence to process protocols.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Follows all safety policies and ensures compliance of other associates in all work areas. This includes room and process policies for PPE and security. Observe all safety regulations pertaining to personnel, chemicals, equipment, and building.

  • Ensures timely, accurate, and complete recording all required transactional data.

  • Ensures that materials for production are dispensed to meet production schedules.

  • Coordinates and participates in scheduled physical counts of inventory.

  • Maintains high level of organization and cleanliness in all work areas.

  • Actively participates in Quality System activities and drives continuous improvement in Stockroom.

  • Coordinates disposal of aged and obsolete materials per policies and regulations.

  • Participate in plant wide improvement efforts and project assignments as requested.

  • On time for shift start, scheduled training, and meetings.

  • Attention to detail. Ability to learn and perform job functions to quality and time standards. Able to follow instructions and communicate difficulties immediately.

  • Trained, proficient, and performing all of the process functions pertaining to the Stockroom. Trained as back up for Strong Room and Shipping & Receiving

  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to read, speak, write and understand English.

  • Basic math skills. Able to perform simple math formulas and percentage calculations.

  • Basic computer use. Proficient in all required business software including systems used for inventory control (example: SAP, Excel) and communications (example: Outlook, Word, Workday).

  • Other temporary assignments, duties, or projects as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma. Must be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language to ensure safety and to job performance of team members.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of manufacturing inventory control and/or shipping & receiving experience desired.

  • Sense of Urgency: Prioritizes work to meet deadlines, raises issues early, and uses time productively.

  • Computer Skills:Uses computer to compile data and write short summaries.

For Plant Locations Only: Physical Demands:

  • Must stand or walk on hard surface 5 - 6 hours per workday. Required to occasionally lift up to fifty pounds. Safely operates material handling equipment. Required to move wheeled containers, pallets, and or drums using manual jacks, powered lifts, or assistance of other operators. These may weight 50 - 2000 lbs. Must have ability to perform repetitive arm and hand motions for 1-2 hours that are typically not continuous.
Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:This job shall maintain compliance with all applicable Environmental, Health & Safety Regulations at all times. The employee in this job shall maintain compliance with all Ferro Safety Standards as well as EHS rules/requirements of the site at all times.

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our First Quality Retail Services division. This position will be located in King of Prussia, PA. Shift: 7pm-7am overnight on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule * Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat * Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thurs Primary responsibilities include: * Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements in an effort to attain safety goals. * Pick and stage raw materials for manufacturing area. * Pull and delivery of materials to designated areas on the manufacturing floor. * Delivery and removal of materials at the reclaim areas (i.e., fluff bales, etc.). * Pick up and delivery of packaging to manufacturing lines. * Participate in all physical inventories. * Pull and stage corrugate boxes for manufacturing. * Able to use the data collection system (scanners, computer, etc.). * Secure all trailers at the dock via procedures. * Load/unload trucks and trailers. * Take scrap and trash to dumpster or baler area, as required. * Performs general housekeeping tasks to keep the warehouse in "tour ready" condition. Tasks can include: sweeping, picking up debris/trash. * Place rejected materials and finished product in designated locations. * Load wooden pallets onto designated trailer, no less than 18 inches high. * Pick up and stage empty, wooden pallets from the manufacturing floor. * Assist in the warehouse operations as needed, and handle other such duties as assigned (i.e. material handler, etc.). * Transports return to stock (RTS) items from manufacturing to the warehouse. * Completes daily pre-shift inspection of powered industrial equipment to ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment. * Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Attend and participate in all training programs, meetings, etc. * Perform cycle counts as needed. * Stage finished product for loaders, in designated locations. * Complete all applicable paperwork in accordance with job duties and responsibilities. * Unload, check and count incoming raw materials. * Place materials in designated areas, within warehouse. * Must be able to effectively communicate (orally and written) with associates and other departmental personnel. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills: * High school diploma or equivalent. * 1-2 years of warehouse experience. * Organizational ability and effective communication skills required. * Must be able to work overtime (weekday and weekend) as required. * Able to operate motorized, industrial lift equipment and become certified. * Must be able to make decisions in an independent mode. * Must be able to articulate and clearly convey information, directions, etc.; must have good interpersonal and leadership skills and interface with all departments; * Must be able to speak, read and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills.
