JOB SUMMARY

Prepare, crate, and ensure proper documentation for loading large crates and finished machines. Utilize air nailer, table saw, and other power tools to build crates to properly secure material to be delivered in an undamaged state. Prepare and verify paperwork for shipment, and ensure proper information is sent to the logistics department for export shipments. Drive a forklift to load crates/pallets on trucks. Be able to climb on stepladders to properly secure the top of wooden crates. Call in trucks for pickups. Various material handling as needed. Pick parts for orders according to pick slip. Maintain proper computer transactions & be able to navigate a windows based computer. Receive, move, and store all materials shipped to the company. Audit and check all materials received to assure the correct materials have been received. Inspect for proper certification and apply regulatory code designations. Work cross functionally with focus factories, receiving, and logistics to ensure proper material flow.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Load outbound trucks.

  • Build crates using power tools such as saws and air nailers to properly secure and protect outbound material.

  • Move, store, and control inventory to and from stockroom and manufacturing to assure proper storage and inventory control.

  • Prepare and verify shipping paperwork to ensure accuracy.

  • Pick orders for outbound delivery in an accurate manner.

  • Call in trucks to schedule pickups

  • Offload materials from carriers at the receiving docks.

  • Verify and count materials received to assure that shipping papers and materials match and point out discrepancies.

  • Assist in the movement and storage of all materials.

  • Update inventory records and generate the necessary receiving reports.

  • Assist inventory management in expediting required materials through the plant and inspection department.

  • Receive and verify all returned goods, update the system, add any line text if needed based on damages or changes, and send to specified department.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Perform cycle counts as requested.

  • Communicate across department to point out and help resolve inventory discrepancies, provide quality updates and other information as needed.

  • Perform other material handling tasks as required.

  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, write and process all instructions.

  • Ability to verbally and electronically communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment (such as forklifts, scissorlifts, etc.)

  • Ability to operate hand tools such as saws, air nailer, etc.

  • Ability to understand and use basic math skills in addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.

  • Ability to work accurately with basic keyboard and monitor interfaced with the mainframe computer to enter work order data as required.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with at least two (2) years of related experience is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Specific PPE is required within the cell.
