Position SummarySterilize dental instruments including instrument cassettes, bur blocks, endo file boxes, and handpieces. Track dental instruments through all phases of the cleaning and sterilization process by utlilizing scanning technology.

Perform routine maintenance on a variety of dental equipment. Operate disinfection and sterilization equipment. Troubleshoot error messages, perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of equipment.

Maintain files and records and provide support to clinic office staff. Qualifications Required Education:High school diploma or equivalent Required Experience:Up to 6 months of related experience. Familiarity with dental instruments.

Preferred Experience:Dental assistant training or experience. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to work in a fast paced and hectic environment. Strong interpersonal skills.

Operating Room Suite - #77513 CertifiedSurgical Technician Roles &Responsibilities: The CertifiedSurgical Technician has knowledge and expertise in operating room technology,and is responsible for assisting in the performance of routine and delegatedfunctions under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. * Applies principles andpractices of asepsis; performs surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedure. * Sets up sterileinstrument table and prepares supplies according to type of operation. Assistsin draping of patient and operative area according to need. * Assists and anticipatesneeds of surgeon for instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies according toknowledge of procedural requirements and constant monitoring of progress.Observes patient and is prepared for emergencies. * Maintains correct countof sponges, needles, and instruments with circulating nurse and reportcorrectness of discrepancies according to established policy and procedure.Maintains and monitors aseptic technique at all times and institute correctivemeasures in the event of contamination. * Assists in care,handling and disposition of specimen according to policy. Assists inapplication of dressings, and in securing drainage systems. Assists in movingpatient to appropriate receptacle, decontaminate all equipment, instruments,and reusable supplies and clean room as prescribed. * Assists the RegisteredProfessional Nurse in performing circulating functions according to establishedguidelines. * Assembles all necessarysupplies according to requirements of the patient and surgical procedure. Providesspecial equipment before, during, and after surgical procedure, as needed. * Observes and protectspatient by correct positioning, application of restraint, strict asepticpractice and maintenance of aseptic environment. * Positions patient,adjusts table and accessories, as required for procedure. Prepares operativearea and assists in draping as directed. * Assists scrub inmaintenance of correct sponge, needle and instrument counts and reportsdiscrepancies to the surgical team and charge nurse. Completes operative countand related records accurately and legibly. * Observes personnel inthe room constantly, control traffic, report and correct breaks in aseptictechnique promptly. Maintains and cares for all specimens as directed toprevent loss or damage. * Assists in applicationof dressing, moving of patient and transfer to recovery room as directed.Assists in room clean-up and make preparations for next procedure. * Assists nurse inpreparing medications or solutions to be administered during surgery. * Saves all medicationvials and/or ampules until patient leaves the room. Announces in an audiblevoice the name, concentration, amount and route of administration of themedication. * Functions as aprofessional role model inclusive of acting as a preceptor for students, hiresnewly hired staff, and incumbent staff. * Demonstratesaccountability for our practice based on institutional/regulatory agencypolicies/procedures. * Maintains clinicalcompetence and is responsible for own professional development. * Performs scrub andsterile instrument duties per established guidelines. * Does not dispensenarcotics or control drugs under any circumstances. Registered ProfessionalNurse dispenses these drugs to the physician. Performs functions to assist inmeeting operational needs: Assists in transportation of patients to and fromthe surgical suite as directed. Participates in the care and storage ofinstruments/special equipment in the operating rooms. * Assists in themaintenance of quotas of current dates for sterile supplies and equipment inthe operating rooms and storage areas. * Assists in keepingoperating room and sterile storage areas and equipment in good order. Assists in care of storage closets andcabinets.
