Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
High School Diploma RequiredCertification in Central Sterile Processing or proficient in all areas including scope cleaning.
Must be able to take call, work independently, and prioritize work according to changes in OR cases and schedule. Must have excellent time management skills. Must exercise discretion in judgment when determining work flow and tray preparation.
