Job Purpose:Collects and distributes portable patient equipment throughout the surgical department. Cleans and decontaminates shelving daily and empties case carts and patient care equipment as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Training: High school diploma/GED equivalent. Certification in sterile processing strongly preferred upon hire or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. BLS certification preferred.

Work Experience: 1-3 years of sterile processing experience in a hospital setting preferred

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Collects and distributes portable patient equipment throughout the hospital. Cleans and decontaminates shelving daily and empties case carts and patient care equipment as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to communicate routine information effectively.

  • Knowledge of aseptic technique preferred. Knowledge of patient care equipment preferred.

  • Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation checklist.

  • Meets mutual agreed upon performance goals/objects.
