Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Supervisor, the Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments, and the cleaning of patient care equipment.

• Provides excellent customer service. Actively participates in quality and process improvement initiatives.

• Ensures accurate documentation of the sterilization process and actively reports abnormalities to leadership.

• Participates in proper receiving and reprocessing activities related to loaner and consignment sets.

• Under the direction of the department Educator, may serve as preceptor to new staff or OR staff cross training to Sterile Processing.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Job Requirements:

• CRCST, CSPDT or CST certificate
