We are looking to fill a Full Time (40 hours a week) Sterile Processing Team Lead position at Methodist Hospital. This position would be on the night shift.

The Sterile Processing Team Lead will clean, wrap, sterilize, store and distribute equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes used in patient care. They assist area clinical staff by using specialized knowledge in surgical instrumentation and procedures to prepare for surgical cases. They provide technical guidance to others involved in the assembly of instrumentation and preparation of case carts. They train team on various skills and tasks. They act as a resource or mentor for the team and other staff. They will provide functional guidance to the team and assists the Manager with scheduling, training and inventory duties.

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Requires one national certification (CRCST,CSPDT,CFER or CST) and a second national certification related to central service or sterile processing (Examples: CIS; CSIP; CFER; CST; CHMM; CHL).

  • Requires 24 CE credits annually that focus on information and advancement related to the CS field and be of a technical nature.

  • Must maintain current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA if in a hybrid OR/SPD role.

  • May require Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

  • Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Requires demonstration of expert knowledge and skills identified as necessary to function as a Tech III.

  • Requires knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.

  • Requires advanced preceptor skills and experience in mentoring and coaching.

  • Requires basic computer skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Endo instrumentation function and maintenance is preferred.
