Description

The Sterile Processing Supervisor reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Sterile Processing Supervisor assures that the standards of operation of the department are in compliance with the standards set by regulatory agencies, such as the state Department of Health, JCAHO and others. This role acts as a liaison between Sterile Processing and the Director/Manager

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working in sterile processing.

  • Central Supply Certification

  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of medical terminology.

  • Manual dexterity and motor coordination to work with patients and equipment.

  • Demonstrates the ability to use proper body mechanics in lifting, pushing, and pulling.

  • Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment in times of need and emergency situations.

Preferred:

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience.

  • Basic computer data entry and Microsoft Word experience.
