Job Description Summary:

The Sterile Processing Core Technician is a skilled liaison position requiring service line specific knowledge, critical thinking/judgment and communication skills to provide improved services to surgeons and patients. This individual must provide appropriate instrumentation by proactively collaborating with the OR staff, vendors and SPD Staff, thus improving the relationship between Sterile Processing and the OR. This individual is instrumental in increasing customer satisfaction and reducing patient delays or cancellations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree, High School or GED (Required)CBSPD

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Must have strong instrumentation and surgical procedural knowledge. Must exhibit strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrate ability to work well with others as part of a team. Requires moderate computer skills. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions, as well as perform basic mathematical calculations. Working knowledge of AAMI and AORN standards.
