The Bridge at ACES ASPIRE middle school students found it challenging to succeed in the traditional classroom setting. They benefit from a personalized learning environment and form strong connections with school educators and peers.
Our students will be able to create their pathway to educational and social success. The Bridge at ACES ASPIRE teachers develop educational opportunities for our students to gain knowledge in core academic areas (science, math, reading, writing, and social studies) along with project-based learning, career readiness, life skills, culinary, physical education, health and wellness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, vocational education and community-based projects with goal-driven outcomes. Our students will receive academic, community integration, social-emotional learning courses, wrap-around social work, and community services to ensure successful transitions back to their communities. We also provide reintegration services for six months after transition back to the local home schools or graduation, focusing on academic and community support.
ACES is seeking a dynamic STEM teacher committed to social justice and making a positive impact on at-risk youth who have experienced difficult circumstances. The teacher must educate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Job responsibilities include developing STEM curriculum, planning daily lessons, providing high level rigorous differentiated instruction and data collection based on student assessments aligned to the Connecticut State Department of Education Standards. The STEM teacher must also engage in team planning through professional learning communities.
Qualifications
The applicant needs either a Math or Science Connecticut certification. Math 7-12 (029) or General Science (034)
